After I started practicing intuitive eating (with lots of ice cream) I've realized that the most satisfying sugars for me are fruits; I also realized why I might love dairy so much, because it naturally has tons of sugar in it (lactose). I still love to eat ice cream/cookies when someone puts them in front of me, but for some reason the more I eat stuff like that the more I get really bad cravings for some fruit or yogurt Also if you want a different alternative to sugar, try using stevia (get the pure kind, not the kind with fillers) I add a little bit to sweet things to bring out the flavor. Even adding it to plain yogurt or milk makes it taste exactly like ice cream, without the sugar crash.
