Dede,

Thank you so much for posting these articles on calcifications....it's made me do some more thinking. I'm still having trouble with my left shoulder/arm and I am strongly suspecting that I've got an acidic problem and some calcifications building up there. It just makes alot of sense to me. My diet has been highly acidic for awhile and I know I need to get a handle on it. There's a book called "Alkalize or Die!" by Theodore Brody (I believe that is the author.) It is a strong statement on how important it is to remain alkaline. I've been neglecting that for a long time.

This excerpt was impactful from the article you posted: http://www.mgwater.com/agingcal.shtml

"Calcification can cause a thousand illnesses. As the body grows, the calcium migrates from the hard tissues (bones) to the soft tissues in your body. Few understand the full scope of this program. It is the most prevalent clinical finding in industrial cultures.

Where the calcium buildup occurs depends upon your individual biochemistry. Calcium deposits in the joints are called arthritis; in the blood vessels it is hardening of the arteries; in the heart it is heart disease, and in the brain it is senility.

The calcification process develops slowly. It occurs gradually over 10, 20, 30 years or more. It can begin in childhood. There is almost no soft tissue in your body that is immune from calcification, including your various glands."

That last statement about the glands is particularly eye raising for me. I had no idea.

My goal will be to alkalize and get rid of any possible calcium deposits by using apple cider vinegar daily, increased magnesium and an alkaline diet. A big order for me because I've started taking my health for granted again! Shame on me!

Thanks for the good info.
