Yes, the silicone shell is just as bad, and in fact, for some women

like me, I believe it is the reason for the illness in the first

place. I did not have silicone gel breast implants. I had saline,

but I got sick in a very short time, and I believe it was because I

was reacting to my textured silicone shells. The body will attack

the shell of any implant, and in the case of the textured ones, the

macrophages can actually gnaw off the silicone particles and carry

them to other parts of the body through the lymph system. However,

many of the women who have gotten sick had smooth shells, not the

textured. (You can see our poll about this in our POLLS section.)

Whatever the reason, the shells are just as much at fault for making

women sick as the filler of the implant. For some women, a foreign

object in the body is just not acceptable no matter what, if the

adrenal glands or any other part of the endocrine system become

stressed to the point of illness. Stress is a killer, and doctors

are right when they say, " YOu are just stressed. " With implants, yes,

the body is very stressed, 24/7.
