Good for you, Amy and ! However, I might ask to borrow both of you if necessary, would you mind? Raytown is not that far away from midtown... I bet if I called you on the way in to the ER at St. Luke's Plaza, you could be there in less than thirty minutes. - T

Guest guest
Hi Amy, I can totally relate to what you went through with your husband. I am so glad that you have him there for support. I had to go to the ER yesterday morning again. I was having an acute spasm pain and just couldn't handle the pain anymore. I spent two hours at home and it just wasn't getting any better. I finally let my husband take me to the ER. Believe it or not...I actually had a good experience there this time. I was immediatly taken back to one of the critical beds and within 15 mins a doc and nurse saw me, I had an IV put in and had Demerol given. I was so relieved. THe nurse I had was very supportive also. I kept trying to wait for more meds, when I was still in pain, and he was actually telling me that I SHOULD take more, that I didn't need to be in pain. Can you believe it?!?! Wonders never cease. I was there for about 4 hours and then they let me go home. I don't know if it was the SOD or the bile duct stones giving me the problems. I guess I will find out tomorrow. I am having my ERCP done. One of the things I hate about the hospital where I am having it done is that they don't let my husband come into the preop area. It is against their " rules " . Dumbest rule I have ever heard of. Don't they realize that the more emotional support we can get from our husbands the better off we will be? I always end up crying saying that I need him with me so they will let him in. He also does what your husband did. He asks a lot to come in and if they keep saying no he will keep asking until he gets them to say yes. Eventually they say yes just to get rid of him...LOL... I hope we don't have to many problems tomorrow. Well, that's all for now. HOpe you are having some pain, stress free days,
Guest guest
Dear , Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner,I took a little time off from posting, but you and everyone else have not been out of my thoughts or prayers. I'm glad you had a good ER experience for a change. It's about time. You are right. We are lucky to have our husbands to depend on. I don't know what I would have done without 's support through the worst times. Hope you're doing alot better!
