Guest guest
I took my kids to the beach in California on Sunday. None of us used sunscreen---we never do. We have very nice tans right now, a little red, but we glow with a nice healthy skin color! This article is excellent. I have always questioned the "sun causes skin cancer" theory. If that was true, why didn't all those farmers, fishermen, hunters and other laborers from millenium ago suffer from great rates of skin cancer? They spent far more time in the sun than we do today, uncovered and without shelter. The nutritional and genetic implications make far more sense to me....and this article discusses it. The key is your ratio of omega 6 fats to omega 3 fats. In America, we eat far too many omega 6 fats (found in all those processed oils in our foods), and not enough omega 3 (found in fish and flax). Now THAT makes sense as to why we suffer from greater rates of skin cancers in the past century...that's when all those processed oils came out. http://newsletter.vitalchoice.com/e_article000867414.cfm?x=b9Wm4WL,b4cFSjTj
