Dear ,

Gosh, perhaps you do not have it from what

you say. The confirmation is the biopsy. I hope you do not have it.

Hi friends...

Just wanted to give you the latest update and to

ask once again for

your prayers. I went to my primary physician

today. It is the first

time I have seen him in almost 1 yr. I went in and

talked to him

about the last year. He looked over everything,

and was a bit upset

at how things have been handled. He said that a

liver biopsy was

supposed to have been done when I had active liver

imflammation to

rule out the autoimmune hepatitis. He said that is

the only sure way

to eliminate it. He said that since my liver

enzymes have been down

that it looks more promising that it may not be

that. That made me

happy to hear. I had lab work today to check my

liver enzymes and my

sed rate. Please pray that they come back normal.

If not, I'll be

having a liver biopsy and I'll be sent to Shands

medical school in

Gainsville for more testing. He said autoimmune

hepatitis is very

rare and no one in my area treats it. He was a bit

concerned as to

why someone my age has such severe gastroparesis.

He said that

usually that is associated with diabetes. He said

he would like to

know what underlying condition is causing that,

but the GI was

content to tell me that a virus in the past must

have caused it. He

said there is some concern about a rheumatic

(autoimmune) disease

because of the + anticardiolipin antibody I have.

That is what they

thought caused me to m/c. That is associated with

Lupus etc. There is

also a history of rheumatoid arthritis in my

family...my great

grandma, that increases my chances of having an

autoimmune disease.

He says he fears I may have a

" smoldering " autoimmune disease that

hasn't hit me full force. He said he may send me

to a rheumatologist

or a hematologist. He isn't sure yet. He said to

give him 48 hrs to

do some research and to get the labwork back. Then

we'll discuss the

next step. He wants to send me to someone

who will be able to shed

some light on things. He doesn't want me to be

running from one MD to

the next.

That is the latest. Please just pray for good lab

results! He did

strongly advise me against getting pg right now

until we have more

answers. He said that since I do want more

children, he'll get on it

right now, and not let any time waste.

forgive me for not knowing all the names yet, but

I would like to

wish Tony the best on his trip to NY. I believe

God has a miracle

waiting for you! I'll be praying for you! :o}

Denice?? I think it is you who is getting the

transplant from a

living donor?? What wonderful news! I will be

thinking of you and

praying for a speedy recovery! Please keep us

posted!

Jeanette--My heart broke for you when I read what

a hard time you are

having. Please hang in there and know that you

have a wonderful

support system here. I'll say a special prayer for

you!

Debbie--I see that you are in FL too. Where are

you from? I live in

Sarasota. My PCP says there is no one in my area

that treats AIH, and

that I'll have to go to Gainsville.

I was wondering if anyone after finding they had

elevated enzymes and

such to have them go down to normal with no

intervention. They seem

to think that because my enzymes have gone down to

normal by

themselves and stayed down for a few months that I

may not have it.

I'll know more after I get this panel and the sed

rate back. Please

keep me in your prayers. You'll all be in mine. I

will keep you

posted!

/FL

The heck with that! The more I move around the better my pain is.

I only hurt when I sit for long periods of time. THe swelling is

better this morning since I slept in my bed on my back with my legs

up on a sofa pillow. I actually got eight hours of sleep!

Marta

who is moving her birds into her bedroom today so that was probably

the last good night's sleep I will get in six months.
