Guest guest
All, Karyn has graciously allowed me to take over the duties of the US Country Representative. As most of you know, I was the GA State Chapter Rep. So........ I am looking for somebody to be willing to take that over for me. Of course I will fill in until that wonderful person out there stands up and raises their hands and says " Me, Me, I will do it!!!!!!!!!!! " I am including in this message the e-mail that Karyn sent out quite a while ago about the duties of a state rep. I also want you to know that as soon as I see what states are not represented, I will be asking for some more willing souls. You WILL hear from me again (yes, this is a warning,, LOL) I am very excited about this opportunity, because putting my focus on this tends to help my depression, etc. You all on this board are actually all helping me probably more that you know. So.. thanks. Do I see any hands??? State Representative Duties 1) Greet and welcome all new members. I will send all the State reps an announcement when a new member joins. Determine what State or country they are from; if it is your state....adopt them. Get to know the new member and determine their needs / situation / their story. Then introduce them to the group. Monitor to assure that they feel comfortable surfing the site, etc. 2. I will also send you names of unsubscribors. If they are from your state let them know we will miss them, why are they leaving, what type of needs did they have that the Association could not meet. Encourage them to support our motto " Many people, many faces, one voice " They can do this by keeping an active membership with " Web only. " 3) Build your state membership. Share the vision with those who's lives have been affected by this disease continue to feel isolated, wronged, and suffering. You can start to make this easier by recruiting City Representatives. We need to do anything we can do to touch other's hearts and let everyone know that we can begin to live in the solution. 4) Survey your state's educational needs. You will be the recipient of continuing information, workshop's, symposium, etc., to filter to your cities, to the people. 5. More than anything, it is OUR VOICE saying, " We are serious about being heard. We are dedicated to supporting the race for a cure to this disease. Until then, those suffering, should be allowed to receive disability aide, and state funded catastrophic health insurance You represent the beginning of the organizational structure of The Pancreatitis Association, International dedicated to those who's lives who have been affected by this disease. It is your birthright to be treated with respect and dignity. To that I am committed. Peace be with you. Karyn , RN KarynWms@... Founder: Pancreatitis Association, Intl.
