Hi Dawn,I feel your pain sister. I am a diet Rebel without a clue!! I very recently went back to the beginning of IE because even though I had practiced it very successfully in the past I had gotten off track over the last yr or two. As I began the process again I had some of the same experiences that you are talking about. I ate because something looked good or tasted good or just because I wanted to and I just couldn't seem to stop when I was satisfied. It was hard. I don't really know why I kept doing it, it was very uncomfortable, I didn't like it and I couldn't seem to stop. Matter of fact I gained about 5 lbs during may and june. All I can say is keep pressing on.

Try to just have some acceptance for how you have been eating, you don't have to like it just say to yourself, "well, that happened." And each time you come to a meal try again and if it doesn't work then move on. Something that did help me was in Geneen Roths WFG she talks about being present in your body no matter what. I don't know about you but when I overeat the last thing I want to do is feel what I am feeling, the fullness, the uncomforability, the slowness of how my body moves, but it was exactly what I needed to do. I remember getting present one day after overeating and when lunch time rolled around I wasn't hungry, I wanted to eat because I would normally eat at that time but my body told me no, and because I had gotten present in the uncomfortable part I was able to wait it out until I got hungry again. This did not feel natural or good at the time, as a matter of fact it was kind of scary and

uncomfortable but I think that was what set me back on the right path again.Good luck to you and Blessings to you,Tana
