Guest guest Posted October 4, 2010 Report Share Posted October 4, 2010 Hello, today i decided that i really have to deal with the issue of not being able to throw away food & with having to 'clean' my plate ( & often that of my husband by eating his left overs - wow, that is embarrassing top have to admit). no wonder i have weight problem & he has never had one. sooooooooo, i decided to make a start on this by trying to leave just one bite of EACH food on my plate & to make a big deal about putting it in the trash. well this morning i did it with a bit of the crust of my toast. at lunch i forgot when i ate the soup (the memory is so short - lol) but then i remembered with my toast. it was easy to throw out the crust but when it came to tossing out that perfectly fresh piece of banana it required super human strength. i considered offering it to my 3 year old grandson. LOL. then thought better of it since it was a test for me to be able to 'waste' food. i DID it & had a bit of anxiety while i was doing it & then felt better after. i hope i remember that feeling better after from now on. heck, i just hope that i can remember to remember to leave SOMETHING on the plate & then have the courage to toss it. wow, i am surprised that this is so challenging for me. i am not a hoarder in the classic sense but i do have problems throwing 'good' stuff away. i like to donate it, though. & junk i can easily get rid of.
