Liz-The food bag idea never really worked for me. I do do the eat when I have to sometimes. It's just life, and really that's the great thing about IE. It's all about life and making it work for you. You find the fit that it works in your life and go with it. If you know you will be hungry and can't snack, or won't want a snack, eat if you need/want. Pick IE up at any time and any moment. This isn't coming out right. I hope you get the idea that I think preemptive eating isn't a horrible thing, that there are times and places we need to do that. You know what will work for you. Now, just fine tune IE to work with you that way.DawnTo: IntuitiveEating_Support Sent: Thu, September 30, 2010 9:00:31 AMSubject: Eating around your schedule

Hi guys -

Liz here again (sorry, forgot to write my name on my last post) - I was wondering how you guys dealt with fitting IE around your schedule (work, social activities, etc). Although I'm lucky to have a pretty flexible schedule and work relatively few hours, I still find myself eating before I leave the house even if I'm not hungry, simply because I'm pretty sure that if I didn't eat I would get hungry while at work/other activities (usually only about a 5-6 hour stretch away from my house). Do you guys do this? It is ok? I've heard of bringing a "food bag" with you everywhere, so that you can eat whenever you get hungry, but I find that the things I usually get hungry for are actual meals, nothing I could pre-prepare for a food bag. But is the food bag still better than "pre-emptively" eating? Any other strategies?

Thanks for the advice :)

Hi Liz,Remember you actually can have those foods your doctor recommended not to eat..... Unfortunately you will suffer negative consequences if you do ingest them. I have some foods like this too... For me, it is changing my perspective. No one is taking anything away from me... They are giving me information. I am the one who chooses to do what I want with this information. This is just a brief synopsis regarding a much deeper issue.

hi liz,i don't think there is a right way or a wrong way to do ie. i think what is 'right' is whatever works for you. if i were in that position i would test drive both ways, do pre-emptive eating for a while & see how i feel ( do i tend to get too hungry after work & then eat ravenously or is my hunger still within an comfortable range). then i would switch over to taking a mini type meal with me & eat it when i get hungry & see if that is better or worse than the other way. only you can tell what is right for your body. mjTo: IntuitiveEating_Support Sent: Thu, September 30, 2010 8:00:31 AMSubject: Eating around your scheduleHi guys - Liz here again (sorry, forgot to write my name on my last post) - I was wondering how you guys dealt with fitting IE around your schedule (work, social activities, etc).
