Guest guest
I know the topic often comes up that when you go to the doctor you are going to get the lecture about losing weight. This is so scary to some because the doctor is a perceived authority figure that they won’t go for a regular exam or when something is wrong. In our Files section of this group, the third listing down has some resources to give to your doctor and also what you can say and looking for a new doctor that will support IE. There is a bunch of HAES resources in there, too. I came across a tweet about a blog post that I thought was awesome. It’s about how the writer stood up to her doctor and told him what she was and wasn’t going to do regarding her weight. And the best part – she sent her doctor a copy of Health at Every Size. We can only hope it made a difference. Anyway, check out the blog post, there’s even a comment from Bacon herself! Just ignore the comments from the unenlightened that don’t get it and probably never will. http://msmagazine.com/blog/blog/2010/04/09/dont-be-shamed-by-the-weight-talk/ Thanks!
