Guest guest
Hi all Today I had a different kind of doctor appointment. Several weeks ago I got a letter from the family practice center where I go asking me if I would be interested in a group meeting with other diabetic patients. So I filled out the form and indicated I would be interested. Today was the first meeting. There were only four of us, and the doctors hope to get more patients to attend future meetings. We each got private time with our doctors and had the standard blood pressure check, weight check, etc. in addition to the meeting. I also got my flu shot. It's an interesting concept, and I do plan to attend the next meeting in January. I'd be interested to hear if any of you do anything similar. My doctor said this is a growing trend and that studies show diabetics who attend groups like this for support do better with their diabetes management.
