Guest guest
Hi, Meg, I can certainly understand how upsetting at your tender young age it must have been to learn you have arthritis already! But take it from an almost 60-year-old woman who has arthritis and HBP, please don't let it throw you off your current healthy path and make you go back to the craziness of dieting! You're already doing and have done wonderful things for your body and health that will certainly benefit you as you get older! And may I say, I wish that intuitive eating was around when I was 25! Guest guest
Hi, Meg, I'm glad to hear that you're going to see a physical therapist and hope this treatment will be very beneficial for you and give you some relief! Also, please ask the PT about doing yoga and/or other flexibility exercises; they might be of some benefit to you. Perhaps some weight training to keep the support muscles for your back strong too might help. You know, my doctor recommended that I lose weight to help with my HBP. That's when I got caught up in the diet craziness again. The funny thing of it all was my blood pressure wasn't any better after losing the weight. (Guess I need some yoga myself.) Wish doctors were a little more enlightened about weight issues; they don't seem to understand there is a lot of stuff that goes into it all. And as we all know, yo-yo dieting is far worse on your health than staying at a heavier stable weight. Meg, please try not to worry too much about what the future may hold for you now. Concentrate on what you can do to take care of yourself today because what you're doing today will determine how you'll be in the future.
