Hi Pat,

Not that I am aware of. Last I heard, the software was in to the FDA for

approval. But that's all I know and if your government is like ours, that

could take awhile. Government is not fast.

Is it true that Prodigy is being sued because they have not yet come up with

the technology to make the Prodigy meter have the ability to be printed out

and accessible to the blind?

Hi Dean,

Do you have someone with sight around to look at the meter? If you do and

the meter says EE (two letter e) or EO then it means there is a problem with

the meter and you will need to turn it in for a new one under warranty. If

there is another picture on the display screen, then look up the meaning of

the picture at the back of your manual. If you need an Autocode manual on

the computer so you can look it up yourself, then e mail me at

ruthh@... <mailto:ruthh%40prodigymeter.com>

<mailto:ruthh%40prodigymeter.com> (there are two hs)

and I will send it to you. I

myself don't think it's the batteries because it is still playing the turn

off music and starting, but it wouldn't hurt to try new batteries.

Otherwise, I strongly suggest you call technical support at 1-.

I also think Dave's Idea is a good one to consider a Voice as it speaks to

you more and can tell you the error messages.

Glad to her it is that far ahead. You are right however, it may still take

a long time for approval.

When I got home from work last night the meter started working again. I

will keep this info for the future and see if the place where I get my

strips, etc. offer the Voice.

I used to get my strips, etc. from a local pharmacy but I guess they got

tired of trying to keep fresh strips for all the different brands of meters.

so they links us up with Heritage Diabetic in NC.

Medicare has durable medical coverage I believe. Strips and all the

accessories are durable medical. Medicare will probably say they cover 80%,

but as I mentioned before, ask your supplier (for example, Advanced Diabetic

Solutions), to write off the 20%. This is what I've found has worked for me.

Don't be afraid to ask ADS (or any other supplier) how to deal with this.
