I think the biggest question is whether or not the fat remains. If often disperses and you end up no better off. There are also risks associated with calcifications, but your doctor will be able to better discuss this with you. I don't think it is a very common practice, so you would be taking a small risk with it. There is a clinic in Japan that is having better success with fat transfers, because they use a different method of harvesting the stem cells.
