Hi Lea, Thank you for this! I am on pencillin after having had major dental surgery yesterday. (I've taken pencillin for 7 days before surgery) And I am also suppost to have breast cancer surgery in a couple of weeks (I am postponing to let my body heal and to get the anitibiotics out of my body). I will get Vitamin C IV drip to help boost my immune system before surgery. I've head Doctors put you on antibiotics before breast cancer surgery. Do you know what the 'kicker' is? They don' t even tell you what kind of anti biotics they put you on. I will demand they tell me after reading this. I was on Levaquin for almost a month - before my ear surgery because of an abscess, and for two weeks afterwards. . . That stuff makes me feel horrible! . . . check www.askapatient.com for patient comments on medications.That said, I would take it again . . . It's a powerful antibiotic that leaves virtually nothing to chance. The problem is most doctors don't have a clue about what these antibiotics do to the digestive system. Or how to overcome the problems (fungal) that are likely to follow.Taking probiotic supplements and eating probiotic foods, both during and after taking these drugs is essential if one is to recover completely!Rogene

The vitamin C IV sounds great, and I hope that it will help. My doctors always put me on antibiotics before surgery; however, they always tell me what they will be using.
