Guest guest
Dear , Wow, I'm so sorry to hear that the shots are not terribly effective thus far and that Jackie is still in pain. I'm really, really sorry to hear that. I know you are " worried and depressed " as you said, for goodness sake who wouldn't be; you've been so strong for her, and it's bound to wear you down. Please remember, , that you must take care of yourself too, in order to be an effective caretaker for her. I also understand about your misgivings re: the ERCP as well... So many folks have posted about their less-than-desirable experiences with them, the scarring they cause, the flare-ups that often result, and the otherwise permanent damage that they can do... and to take the chance that these things be visited on a child of twelve is very scary. Hopefully Dr. Cotton will have a better idea by the time you actually meet on the 24th. We'll keep praying so, and keep praying that her pain will lessen and, hopefully, be eliminated altogether. Bless you both, , we're pulling for you. Praying for comfort for both of you, Terry in KC << Hey Heidi and all, Well Jackie is about the same, still missing school, still in pain... >>
Guest guest
Hey Heidi and all, Well Jackie is about the same, still missing school, still in pain. So far the injections are not working. I haven't heard from her doc...her next appt is Sept 24 so I do not know if I should continue the shots until then or not. I am going to give it two weeks though. Next week I may call him or just give it until her appt...I am not sure yet. Guess I am a little sad about the whole thing. I am worried and depressed. I know Jackie is tired too. I appreciate all of your prayers and support. I will keep ya'll posted on how she is doing. I am looking forward to going to see Dr. Cotton but I figure he will probably do an ERCP, and those worry me with the scarring, and then the flare ups they can cause. I will keep ya'll posted. Talk to ya soon, --- hhessgriffeth@... wrote: > Dear , > > It's been at least a week or so since you've posted, > so I wanted to > check to see how Jackie was doing. Is she feeling > any better? Guest guest
Dear , Thanks for letting us know about Jackie. I'm so sorry that she's not responding as you'd hoped, it must be disappointing for you all. You have good reasons to be depressed and worried. I can't tell you how I'd feel if it were my daughter, without breaking into tears. I know you're worried about the ERCP, isn't everyone, but as Kaye will testify, Dr. Cotton is a wizard, and can navigate the most difficult trajectory with great skill. Be thankful that you have someone like him prepared to help you instead of not having a choice and having to see a Doc. not as skilled. There are plenty of them out there, don't we know, that's why the procedure is so feared. I hope it won't be necessary, and that you see more positive results from her injections this week. Either way, I'll keep her, and y'all, in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Heidi > Hey Heidi and all, > Well Jackie is about the same, still missing school, > still in pain. Guest guest
, tell Jackie we are giving her a whole lota prayers and give her a hug from me. She's such a brave young girl for dealing with this awful disease. My doctor tried me on the Sandostatin for two weeks. It didn't work for me, but it does for another of our group, Markie, so give it two weeks. I've heard a lot of good things about Dr. Cotton from other of his patients, so if she's got to have an ERCP, at least she's got a good expert who's doing it. Kimber -- Kimber hominid2@...
