Guest guest
Hi , Maybe it will help you to realize that everybody feels self doubt and like there's something badly wrong with them, from time to time. That's not abnormal. Nobody can achieve a state of perfection in thought, mood, or deed; we make mistakes. We screw up. We hurt someone's feelings or forget to pay a bill or act selfishly from time to time. The difference, I guess, is that most people learn how to self-soothe, comfort and reassure ourselves that even when we do make a mistake, the mistake can (usually) be repaired when we possess real empathy and have real remorse and make real effort to change and grow. Maybe your therapist can help you work on some techniques to improve your ability to self-soothe, and some techniques to redirect your thinking when it gets stuck in that well-worn groove of " there's something badly wrong with me. " Have you been keeping a journal? A daily journal can help you see how far you've come on your path to healing, and after a while a journal can help you notice if any patterns show up that trigger you to feel increased self-doubt or anxiety. I hope that helps. -Annie > > Hi All, > > It's over a year into my healing journey from my nada and horrific abuse as a > child. > > Subsequently I suffer Anxiety Disorder and depression. Guest guest
Hi , I think worring about having BPD is part of your anxiety and obsession about that. Not all people with bouts of anger and and behavioural issues have BPD. Sometimes I see people around me in rage but I can't just tag them with BPD. In my case, my nada has depression and anxiety on top of her BPD. Have you ever heard of EFT. Take a look at the below link. I suggest whenever the thought of having BPD crosses your mind do the tapping. It really helps. It helps with anxiety and depression too. You can change the wordings to whatever you wish to get rid of. http://www.youtube.com/user/HealingMagic#p/u/32/u8iatvZyuF0 > > > > Hi All, > > > > It's over a year into my healing journey from my nada and horrific abuse as a > > child. > > > > Subsequently I suffer Anxiety Disorder and depression. Guest guest
I question this CONSTANTLY. My therapist always reassures me that I don't have it but I think I might always obsess over it...especially when my emotions feel so all over the place. Honestly maybe the " i'm the crazy one " thing stems from feeling like that as a child our whole lives. Guest guest
I worry too. I think that because Nada didn't care for me, I got used to caring for myself, and as a result, I've become self-centered. I find that I'm so preoccupied about my relationship with Nada that I often don't have enough energy to care about other people. I have to force myself to muster up the energy (and interest for that matter). And I lack empathy too- I figure that no one else had as rough of a childhood as me. I'm sure this is how my Nada feels too. I try to show as much love and compassion for others as I can to break the cycle but I do realize that it's all about me a lot. - > > > On Mon, Aug 2, 2010 at 11:29 AM, Newton wrote: > >> >> >> Hi All, >> >> It's over a year into my healing journey from my nada and horrific abuse as >> a >> child. >> >> Subsequently I suffer Anxiety Disorder and depression.
