I have never used it this way so I don't know if it works this way as effectively, hopefully someone else can give you that info. But sprinkling powder or mixing it with other supplements might work better for you. Dana

I buy Caprylic Acid Complex from a local drug store. It is made by son Vitamins. I took two in the morning and two at night for myself (I took a probiotic at lunch). I gave DD one in the morning and her probiotic at night. I generally found it easier to deal with die off during the day, rather then at night. This is from the site: Each capsule contains: Caprylic Acid (from calcium and magnesium caprylate) 200mg, Garlic (odour controlled allicin-rich) 150mg, Thyme 100mg, Black Walnut Hulls 50mg, Borage Oil 50mg. I'll leave your other questions for those more knowledgable. Take care, __________________________________________________

What is Caprylic Acid and does it have side effects. My son used to do well on GSE for yeast, then gradually seemed to become more sensitive to it. I found out just last week that if I give him 2-3 drops AND a full capsule of NoFenol just before bedtime, the following day he is absolutely wonderful. This past week he's had some of the best days he's had in his whole life. Wish I'd tried this two years ago. I did get caprylic acid to try once, and took a capsule myself as a test. The capsule must have partially disolved before going completely down, and it's one of the most vile substances I've ever tasted. And I kept having these awful caprylic acid burps for about eight hours. Never had the nerve to actually try it on my son after that! Guest guest
I have used it in the past on myself for yeast. I thought it was quite effective, but one time the capsule dissolved partway down my esophagus, and the aftertaste was so horrendous for about eight hours that I refuse to ever take it again. Not much help, sorry, Debbie
Guest guest
Anti-yeast / Candida treatment. Thorne FS 722 is caprylic acid. Look at Yeast Aid from Kirkman Labs (caprylic acid is part of that combination). Dr. Crook ( " The Yeast Connection " ) developed it, I think together with Bernie Rimland (ARI). Excellent results for the whole family (turned out we all had Candida) but it comes in capsule form and a lot of our kids don't swallow them. I tried to mix it into some juice but decided otherwise after I took a smell of it. Carsten [ ] Caprylic acid A DAN! doctor suggested that I give my son caprylic acid. Can someone give me a short simple explanation of what it is, what it does and why it might have been recommended. Thanks.
Guest guest
SF722 is undecylenic acid. Guest guest
Hi Tina, I have used caprylic Acid before with good results on my kids. I get the Vitamin Shoppe brand. Rae > Hello all. Guest guest
Try to find a brand that has powdered filled capsules. They work the best and if you want you can open the caps and mix it with juice. Doesn't mix well but it will have direct contact when you swallow. They used to sell this as a powder in a jar but I can't find it anymore. If anyone knows of a place that does sell it like this. I am interested. Guest guest
My 2 1/2 year old son is currently using Caproil by Innovite. My doctor does not require that I give him the Psyllium Powder with it, and he is a yeast-elimination guru. I find this product to be tasteless and easily " mixable " with babyfood or applesauce. It's supposed to be a really powerful antifungal. We've only been on it for two weeks and have yet to retest the yeast. We had been fighting it for 10 MONTHS ( only 5 months with our current doc) and finally kicked it. My doctor always puts his patients on the product after the yeast appears to be gone; it's supposed to sink into the lining of the gut and get rid of the last " hangers-on " that cause regrowth of Candida. Good luck! Janice > I was wondering if anyone has any experience with caprylic acid or > Nystatin they'd like to share. > > My son's OAT indicated that his yeast would be sensitive to either. Guest guest
Trish, I have used caprylic acid for yeast and bacteria. It works on both. The thing with caprylic acid is that it tasts HORRIBLE. Unless your child can swallow capsules, it would not recommend using the capsules. You can purchase caprylic acid in a liquid form and it has no taste at all. We ordered ours from New Beginnings. Here is their web information: http://www.nbnus.com/ It is called MCT oil. It has worked for us in killing the yeast and bacteria. Hope that helps! > > Anyone else use this? and if you do use this for your child, how much > and how often? Guest guest
Im excited to try the caprylic Acid suggestion. > KAri There are so many Issues! (enzymes, candida, bacteria, heavy metals, methylation...etc) Where to start? What to add when and when is still a mystery to me. But speaking of caprylic acid, my friend with (variant) Cystic Fibrosis says she and her affected son are really feeling much healthier since taking coconut oil. (c.a. comes from coconut oil, I think) Would coconut oil still be effective as an antifungal if used topically, rubbed on the abdomen, for instance? Guest guest
We have used caprylic acid and it does help...but the only thing that cures is removing the metals and toxins, and healing the gut...so I take what I can get til then....we are also using high dose biotin and epicor and beta glucan...it is better but definately not gone... hth Ronni > > Does anybody have any experience with caprylic acid, I have just > rotated it in after GSE and after Sporanox. Guest guest
Dana, Which anti-virals do you suggest for brain yeast, and also how do you know if they have brain yeast. Guest guest
> > Dana, > Which anti-virals do you suggest for brain yeast, and also how do you > know if they have brain yeast. For my son, yeasty behaviors without the bm/gut issues. For me, massive headache. I used GSE for quick relief. Biotin helped in the long term. To eliminate the viruses in the brain, I used OLE, Virastop, vitamin C, and lysine. Anti-virals will cause a lot of yeast until the viruses are mostly gone. But once they are gone, no more brain yeast! Dana
Guest guest
Good morning! Wow, I am sleeping better than I can ever imagine on the Caprylic Acid. It's hard to wake up and function though. Anyone else get tired while taking this? I know it's working because my eyes are clearing but I hate being so tired. Today I should get up to the required dose after 2 weeks of slowly going up. This is amazing stuff. I have only tried the ThreeLac and it seemed to work but not like this. Thank God for this site! Guest guest
Joanne, If you haven't been sleeping well for some time . . . I'd suggest just taking the opportunity to let your body catch up on its sleep . . . If you remain tired after a few weeks, you may need to do some further checking. Keep in mind that your body rebuilds tissues while you sleep . . . So sleep and enjoy! Hugs, Rogene Caprylic acid Good morning! Wow, I am sleeping better than I can ever imagine onthe Caprylic Acid.
