Guest guest
I've been NC for about 2-3 years now. I only talk to my neice and a cousin. Otherwise, I haven't had any contact with FOO other than to reinforce NC. I had lunch with my neice yesterday. Now that I've had some distance, I have a new appreciation for how crazy they all are. In the course of that 2-3 hour lunch, I heard stories that ranged from 3-year-olds not being able to walk because of severe neglect (failure to thrive); my brother staggering into the nursery so drunk he couldn't stand (my neice still lives with her parents) screaming, waking the baby and cracking his beer bottle on the crib, leaving a permanent mark; my brother and his wife blaming my neice for the alcohol problems because she had some struggles when she was 12 (wonder why); my nephew completely bound by a psycho BP girl; someone losing $15,000 trying to " help " another family member buy a house (which is hard to do, trust me); blah blah blah. This all used to be so normal. Now, I'm just horrified. How awful can one group of people be? If someone made BPD a reality TV show, no one would believe it! It's too unreal!! Ah, the joy of NC . . .
