Guest guest
Dear Lynn, Sorry to hear your sister is having such challenges. 13 years ago I went to the doctor because I was feeling "tired" all the time and they discovered a mass in my abdomen. I was sent in for an ultrasound and the doctor called me the next day and told me I had a "huge ovarian cyst" that needed to come out "immediately." I was sent for several additional tests to determine what else was involved in the "tumor" so they would know what to expect during the surgery. The process from start to surgery took about 3 weeks (my daughter's graduation from high school and July 4th holiday in the middle!) and my family was told the surgery would take about 4 hours. After 1 1/2 hours the doctor went out to talk to my family and let them know he had already removed the tumor, explored the abdomen and intestines for evidence of any additional problems or swolen lymph nodes and sewed me back up...no additional complications. I know I was blessed by a loving Father in Heaven who heard the pleadings of my heart and the prayers of family and friends. I know all of the ladies here will be praying for you and your sister to be blessed and I will add my prayers to everyone else's. I know that through trials comes strength, gratitude, and compassion. Bless you! And may you be lifted and comforted by all around you as well as those in Heaven! Love, Deb Need a vacation? Get great deals to amazing places on Travel. Guest guest
Lynn, I hope everything turns out ok too and I will pray that it is nothing to worry about. I had an ovarian cyst as well. I didn't have it removed because it was small. A friend of mine had one the size of a grapefruit removed and it was all ok... I'm sure that your sister is scared right now, do your best to take her mind off of things. You'e both in my thoughts! xo Katy:) --- Lynn <spinkscl@...> wrote: > Hi all, > > Just wanted to ask a favor. Can you please say a > prayer for my sister. Guest guest
Hi Katy, My sister is doing well, thanks for asking. She's undergoing chemo which consists of steroids once a week, and then each day she takes Thalidomide. She'll continue on this treatment until it's been determined that she's in remission. Some days are harder than others, but she's upbeat and continues to do her artwork. A few weeks ago I felt bad because I was whining to her about something or another, but then my other sister reminded me that she wants to live her life as normally as possible, and it would probably feel unnatural if we weren't all b*tching to eachother about our problems!! Guest guest
Sis, Im sorry, but I can't remember, what kind of cancer was she diagnosed with? I hope the treatment is not making her feel too terrible:( It is wonderful that she has been working on art, that is very therapeutic. When my best friend had cancer, she never wanted to talk about it, she just wanted to get on with life and it worked for her! I hope very much that your sister will be in remission soon. Guest guest
Lynn, Thank you! Although I hate that many of us have felt or do feel this way, it helps to know I am not crazy. Last night I tried to talk to my boyfriend about how bad I felt and he asked me if I thought it might be " in my head " . He also suggested that I maybe go see a therapist! This of course was not what I was looking for in terms of support. Thank goodness for you and the other women in the group. Mainly its the dizzy spells/panic attacks (which I don't think are actually panic attacks btw after all of Patty's research on the adrenals) that make me feel like something is really not right. When I get in to see my Dr, I am going to ask for print outs of all my test results and see if I can connenct anything myself. When your thyroid acts up does it feel like a sore throat? I get what feels like the start of strep throat, but it will only last for 1-2 days periodically. Today is a new day and I am going to try to be positive and heal. I really need to force myself to work tonight unfortunately. Katy:) --- Lynn <spinkscl@...> wrote: > Oh Katy, > > I am so sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. I > can relate to how you are feeling. Guest guest
Hi Katy, My sister has Multiple Myeloma, which is a cancer of the plasma - however it effects your bones, making them very fragile. I spoke with her today and she said that her artwork is her escape, and she feels best when she's doing that. Luckily sales are picking up and she's getting alot of new contacts, so this is keeping her very busy. She wakes up very groggy and has anxiety attacks when she never had them before, but she noticed if she gets up very early and is active, she feels the best. If she wakes up later she feels groggy all day. She said she is finding that she doesn't want to be around large crowds of people (I remember feeling that way when I was first sick from implants, I felt safe at home and was worried about having some type of new symptom while out). She said that when she goes out, people seem to gather around her and ask a ton of questions, and she finds herself going through the entire story again. I told her to change the subject, and she said she tries but they keep asking questions. I told her to try the direct approach - tell them she appreciates their concern and politely tell them that she'd rather talk about anything other than her cancer. Guest guest
Just wanted to tell everyone that I am so grateful to have each of you in my life. I pray you all have a blessed day. It was difficult for me to decide who I thought would DO this because many people claim to pray, but not everyone does. I hope I chose the right twelve. Please send this back to me (You'll see why). May everyone who received this message be blessed. There are 12 months/ 12 disciples/ 12 tribes of Israel / Jesus' birth celebrated in the 12th month. There is nothing attached. Just send this to twelve others. Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive. There is no cost, just a lot of reward. Make sure you pray, and pray believing God will answer. May today be all you need it to be. May the peace of God and the freshness of the Holy Spirit rest in your thoughts, rule in your dreams tonight, and conquer all your fears. May God manifest himself today in ways you have never experienced. May your joys be fulfilled, your dreams be closer, and your prayers be answered. I pray that faith enters a new height for you; I pray that your territory is enlarged. I pray for peace, healing, health, happiness, prosperity, joy, true and undying love for God.Now send this to 12 people within 5 minutes and remember to send this back.... I count as 2, you'll see why.Suggestion: copy and paste rather than forward.
