Guest guest
We join Dede in sending special prayers and love to Lynda Roth ... one of the finest advocates ever in the breast implant debacle. I have added two of her latest emails on her condition below. Back in 1997 ... I recall when Lynda 'debated' a Y-Me (silicone industry financed breast cancer group) about implants on MSNBC ... she was brilliant and put the other women to shame.Quick note about Applegate ... we have some good comments on this blog and could surely use more. Another very interesting article from Natural News on is here.Happy to report that our Rogene is recovering well from her ear cancer surgery ... lots more prayers going her way too as she starts radiation next week. She too, is a tireless advocate for women and their offspring affected by silicone. God Bless Her, and give her love, strength, hope, and peace. Thank you all ! Dede-- From: Lynda Roth <coss@...>Date: Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 10:41 AM I have decided to ask my doctor to cvhange my chemo to a more aggressive one to combat this cancer. I have proposed doxil with gemzar, as I found research that shows this is effective in castes where the cancer is intractible (does not want to go away). Tuesday he will meet with the board and discuss it with all the docs there and I will meet with him afterwards. Meanwhile, I have tole him I want to continue with what I am doing,. and I am waiting for a response to that.---------- Forwarded message ----------From: Lynda Roth <coss@...> Date: Fri, Aug 8, 2008 at 2:36 PMSubject: Update on chemo and PET scanWell, the bad news is that there was no change on the PET scan between April and August. The other bad news is that chemotherapy will continue through at least January, but with a different chemotherapy agent, Gemzar. On the bad side, it is a weekly chemo. 3 weeks on and 1 week off, unless the blood counts are too low, then 2 weeks on and one week off. Also probably will have to have injections to bring up both red and white blood counts. This drug is not supposed to cause peripheral neuropathy or hand/foot syndrome, and has a 15% chance of hair loss, usually minimal. This begins on August 15th, one week from today. Nothing more to report, except that I am damned upset that there was no progress with three months of chemo and that I have to continue with chemo for at least 6 more months. I may pull my hair out, so may not have to worry about hair loss. Lynda
