Guest guest
Hi Rogene ~ I am so glad to hear there is NO pain or discomfort with this treatment. The voice and metallic taste sounds alittle odd, but odd is better than pain ! ! Dad has about decided to do the radiation for his breast pain he has been having. It is so bad it is waking him at night. His oncologist thinks the prednisone he took with the chemo " woke back up" the lupron shots he had before his prostate surgery 11 years ago, and he now has gynecomasty. He gave Dad the options radiation, mastectomy, or live with it....... it is disrupting his life horribly, so he is gonna try the radiation, if that doesnt work, then the mastectome. Sad.....an 81 yr old man maybe needing a mastectomy to remove intense pain from medical treatment he had 11 years ago ! ! ! I pulled up the professional info on Lupron a couple weeks ago and Dad read it, and he is really upset about what all it said. The doctors didnt tell him all the horrible side effects, he wouldnt have done it had he known. They used it to shrink the prostate so it would be smaller and easier for the surgeon to get out..........so, it wasnt medically necessary, only surgeon conveinence.... They said Dad's reaction was rare. but they have seen it before.... I hope your treatment goes well today, and you have a great day !
