Guest guest
I know of a child who is 8 months old, and is described as having an allergy to soy and eczema and itchiness to the point of scratching himself until he bleeds, and it's a lot of scratching and bleeding. I think they have Medicaid insurance. It appears that they could afford a little out of pocket. They live in Pocatello, Idaho. Any ideas? Thank you for your help. Guest guest
There isn't much support - biomedically - in Idaho. This family may need to travel to the Boise/Meridian area to find a practitioner willing to go beyond the allopathic model of treatment. I live in North Idaho so I'm unfamiliar with what's going on down south. We use doctors in Washington all of our biomedical care. This may be a possible resource however:http://www.idahoautism.com/doctors.html--- Subject: Practitioner in Idaho or Allergy InformationTo: mb12 valtrex Date: Tuesday, January 18, 2011, 7:03 PM I know of a child who is 8 months old, and is described as having an allergy to soy and eczema and itchiness to the point of scratching himself until he bleeds, and it's a lot of scratching and bleeding. Guest guest
You could suggest that they do some basic gut support like probiotics to see if that helps. Klaire labs has an Infant probiotic that is very good. Guest guest
Heidi, there is a formula called " Neocate " - it's medical grade formula for kids with allergies. I know that if the Dr. prescribes it, then it's covered. http://www.neocate.com/aaa_neocate/1128-neocate-home-page.html In my book - Special Needs Kids Eat Right, she gives this as one idea for helping with allergies. She can probably find this book at the library. (It has a LOT of great ideas for infants!) http://www.amazon.com/Special-Needs-Kids-Eat-Right-Strategies/dp/0399534881 > > I know of a child who is 8 months old, and is described as having an allergy to soy and eczema and itchiness to the point of scratching himself until he bleeds, and it's a lot of scratching and bleeding. Guest guest
Heidi, Also, when my daughter had those type of rashes and they wanted to do steroids, it was really due to a severe, (SEVERE) nutritional deficiency. If they can run labs to determine which things this child is deficient in, then they can supplement too. (I found with Maddie, Vitamin D, B12, potassium and sodium were VERY low.) > > > > I know of a child who is 8 months old, and is described as having an allergy to soy and eczema and itchiness to the point of scratching himself until he bleeds, and it's a lot of scratching and bleeding.
