Guest guest
I found out that this chemo will definitely take all my hair, probably in less than a month. So, I am looking for a wig that is very cool and not itchy. Most are itdhy. I will probably cut off half of my hair ASAP, and have it shaved off the minute it starts to come out. I am depressed with this as I worked very hard the last round to keep my hair, but I guess it will grow back when I am finished. The literature on abraxane says that you may generally feel unwell when doing this chemo. Hope that does not mean more unwell than the last 7 months. That would be difficult to deal with and still try to keep up with the house and other things. Too bad the other chemo quit working. And, I hope this is the last one I have to do to get the cancer out of my liver and lungs. I have back pain in the area where the cancer is in my spine. Not too severe, but it woke me up last night. I am hoping the chemo abates that pain, as that could be the worst part of having this cancer as it can affect the nerves in the spine. They cannot do much about it unless you are in the final stages of cancer. They can give you pain pills, but at night they give me nightmares if I sleep, and generally they keep me awake. They are ok in the daytime. It is the nighttime when the pain bothers me the most. Hopefully the blood counts will be ok on Wednesday so I can start this new round of chemo. I dread it but at the same time want to get going so I can just deal with the side effects and get on with getting it over with. Guest guest
Rogene, Can you send me a picture? I would probably like this kind of hand. Maybe in a denim color or what colors do they come in????? I am thinking that hats might be as good, if not better, than wigs???? Guest guest
Thanks, Dede, Hopefully today they can get on with starting this new chemo. I don't think my nerves will hold out any longer. Lynda
