Guest guest
Thanks you, everyone, for the replies, it's nice to know that people know how I'm feeling. I guess the next step is to contact a surgeon. Did some of you go through your regular MD's first to get insurance preapproval, or is that something the surgeon can do? I read through the exclusions in my insurance info, and it did say something about not covering problems that arise from procedures meant to improve appearance, so I'm not holding my breath, but it's worth a shot. I'm still unsure about the testing- I found another site with all sorts of descriptions of tests for silicone breat implant related issues, and links to private laboratories. Are these tests just not accurate? I would want the implants out anyway, but I would be willing to pay a few hundred dollars for PROOF (and if it would help the insurance crusade, it would be worth it). Thanks again everyone, and I'll keep you posted. Annette
Guest guest
Hi Annette, Let your explanting surgeon do the insurance approval. If you use someone like Dr. Kolb in Atlanta, she can get it for you. There are tests that you can have done to help you understand your illness better, but they will not actually prove your implants specifically are the cause. Testing typically involves finding out if you have an autoimmune condition brewing. What kind of tests are you seeing on that site?
