Guest guest
As a list owner I know that the owner of this list has the option to have replies go to the author rather than the whole list. In other words, unless you change the " " field to the list address, the reply will just go to the person who wrote the post you're replying to. Perhaps a good idea? I wasn't sure of this but have tested it and it works apparently. If you have a comment to make about a post you have the option to either SNIP --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
Hi I totally agree with what has been said about private e-mails. I perhaps fall into the shrinking violet category and prefer to send best wishes, etc privately. It is always good to read e-mails about specific problems being experienced and, of course, treatments so we who suffer can learn more about this dreadful problem. Guest guest
Yikes, I don't know how to access the archives. I get these messages sent to me one at a time. It there a forum type of site where I can read old posts? How do I access it? Hate to sound so computer illiterate! Private emails> > > I would like to discourage the use of this group to arrange for private emailing. The whole point of a forum like this is open sharing of information. People feel bad when they turn to the group for help and support and discover notes to specific individuals with instructions or arrangements for communication outside the group. It gives an air of exclusivity and selective friendship. It seems mysterious and preferential and a little bit snobby. Just my two cents.> > > >

Guest guest
Because this list is set up backwards. When you reply to a post it goes to the whole list not to the sender. Lyme brain does it every time no matter how hard you try to remember. It should be the other way around. There is no harm if you sent a list mail PM but the other way around causes problems. Only if you hit " reply to all " should it go to the list. My 2 cents. Guest guest
Thanks for the explanation. I'm talking about an email I definitely sent privately to someone. That person took it and reposted it in the newsgroup... This is wrong Conniek
Guest guest
Connie, If you still have the original email ( that is if you check it on your home puter using outlook express etc) and hit 'reply' it will list where it came from, such as Lymeaid or you. Someone would have had to copy and pasted the Lyme Aid addy and if they did, well, shame on them, thats just not right.

Guest guest
<<<Gee, I hope that I didn't take a private post and make it public. I've noticed that if it has the written in the subject line, it's usually from the list>>>Debbie Definitely not you Debbie, I haven't seen anyone do that....(except this one person) and I believe she left the group, because she sent me the email that she unsubscribed.... If you highlight a post, and right click your mouse, scroll down to click on properties, then click on the details tab at the top........ Here you will find the path of the email and the original senders personal email address......you can cut and paste from here to send someone a personal email. If anyone knows another method of replying privately to someone......other than this method....please share. Storm has past.........boy that was a good thunderboomer.....watch out NY........coming your way.............from West Jersey to Long Island. Guest guest
Connie, This can happen accidentally. It's gets especially confusing when one's email browser functions differently than the standard Microsoft Office Express, as 's does. (To me it looked just like her other messages when she used the reply button. And it appeared this only happened once with one message. Please let me know if I am wrong about this.) Though we should never post messages found on other groups or sent privately, we also must understand that mistakes happen. The reason I don't have this group designed to respond only to the person who sends the messages is because many, many people are still new to email and have a hard time figuring out some of the details. I want the support provided by this group to be accessible to as many people as possible, as easily as possibly. Every day we just need to try our best and never assume the worst about anyone or anything. =) Robynn [ ] Private emails I don't want to cause any more problems.... BUT WHY are my Personal emails being posted publicly?????? That is like getting a letter in snail mail from someone and then making copies for everyone in town so they may read it. I didn't give permission for this to be done. THIS IS WRONG, Connieknwnj
Guest guest
<<Every day we just need to try our best and never assume the worst about anyone or anything.>>>Robynn I agree! I hope it was a mistake. I hope understands that too. I just find it odd that she had no problem sending me private emails...but then sent my only private email response to her to the newsgroup.. she also sent me an email telling me I was responsible for her leaving the group...(this was my only email to her). When I tried to respond and convince her to stay with the group, she blocked my email address. I think she understands how email and newsgroup postings work. I will however do what you ask and believe she made a mistake....perhaps when she blocked my email address it made it come to the list. Obviously she did quit the group, which is too bad...because I do find this group to be very supportive and helpful. She probably really needed this newsgroup. Perhaps someone can convince her to return. I can't because she blocked my email address. Connieknwnj
Guest guest
It seems she was having a bad day. You clearly did nothing " wrong " . Unfortunately, it is impossible to please everyone all of the time. As Lyme Aid grows this will only become more obvious. Hopefully she will decide to return in the future. =) Robynn Re: [ ] Private emails <<Every day we just need to try our best and never assume the worst about anyone or anything.>>>Robynn I agree! Also thanks for the private emails of support about our online group, etc. I havent' had time to write you back. This is a great attitude to have. I wish everyone tried to not assume the worse of others, but some people can't seem to help themselves or something!!! in Arizona
Guest guest
To all: I just think it is important that we all remember that when we are reading each others posts that we all have this horrible disease that makes us happy one day because we may feel good, and very sad or angry others. No one means to sound hateful to anyone I think it just the disease, the symptoms or the docs we keep fighting with hoping for help and seemingly being turned down almost every where for the most of us. And also things may be misinterpreted because of the lyme brain we may have inadvertantly (sp) left out a word that would have made a world of difference in the reading. I feel everyone here has the best of interest for everyone on this group and we all pray for each other and hope one day we all can definitely say we are Lyme Survivors. Just my humble opinion, Beverly --- Robynn <Robynn@...> wrote: > It seems she was having a bad day. Guest guest
I think private e-mails are used only if you need to give your personal info or get doctors info.I will not put a doctors info on the chat group.nor my own personal info if I need something sent to me. connie, mi Re: [ ] Private emails >> >> >> <<Every day we just need to try our best and never >> assume the worst about >> anyone or anything.>>>Robynn >> >> I agree! Guest guest
Some of my private emails have been posted on this group without my authorization. They were private for a reason. They will be removed, along with all responses. Patty
