Generally kids under 50 pounds get 250 mgs of valtrex 3 times per day and kids over 50 pounds get 500 mgs 3 times per day.

Our son was a Nonresponder to Valtrex. The only thing it did for us was kick up Yeast after several months. We eventually dropped it. You likely needed a switch in antivirals then. Valtrex is not the only one.
