Guest guest
Can Spironolactone help with compliance? Lately, DS (5.5 years old, 35 lbs.) has become completely oppositional. About 1.5 years ago he used to be like that - he would do exactly what we told him not to do. GABA had helped with his compliance at that time. However, recently his behavior has again become like that - does exactly what we tell him not to do. We recently stopped Spironolactone to see whether it was helping him in anyway or not. The other changes that we made recently are introduced Namenda and Amantadine (we are doing the anti-viral protocol - LDM 100, OLE, Monolaurin, Virastop, etc.). Any suggestions as to what might be causing this? He still gets GABA (500mg x 3 times daily). I am completely at a loss. Best regards, Babyrish's mom. Guest guest
Yeast will increase on antiviral protocol - my son always becomes noncompliant on Valtrex - had to stop it as it was definitely not good for behavior, also his auditory processing worsened. I think it also caused brain inflammation in him with antivirals - paradoxical I know but thats what it does to him...Pam > > Can Spironolactone help with compliance? Guest guest
Spironolactone did help my son with compliance and also calmed him a little, I'm assuming my helping the inflammation in his brain. But, it is also known to reduce testosterone which may also help with behavioral issues. The only reason we stopped using it was because my son started having pee-pee accidents everywhere. We did Namenda as well, but seemed to experience some agitated type behavior and this was after removing the dye from the outside of the tablet. -Crystal
