Guest guest
Hi PH, Generally I have included that spacey feeling in the brain fog description. In fact, that is primarily what my brain fog is. It is an almost drunken like, out of body feeling. The memory issues and slow information processing usually accompanied it. I would have to say it was my most horrible and troubling symptom. It is gone for the most part, but has come back at intermittent times, and I've never really been able to figure out what causes it, though I suspect hormonal imbalance. I say that because it usually (but not always) occurred right before my period, and was alieved with the addition of bio-identical hormones. I did chelation therapy in the hopes that it would get rid of my horrible spaciness, early in my illness. The decision to do that was based upon tests my naturopath did, showing high levels of mercury and arsenic. We did DMSA by compounded pill, but it did not relieve the brain fog/spaciness. Only time resolved that issue. My brain fog/spaciness would become shorter and shorter in duration and longer in between events. At first it was constant. There was absolutely nothing I could do that would relieve that feeling. I did infrared saunas, thinking it would be good detox, but that made it worse, so I had to stop the saunas for a year. I was concerned it was inflammatory in nature, so I did anti- inflammatory diets and took anti-inflammatory supplements, but that did not help either. After about 4 years, it was pretty much gone, though not entirely. It would occur perhaps once or twice a year, but to a smaller degree. One woman, Kathy (mikat) who lives in Illinois wrote the group that her brain fog disappeared immediately after surgery and never came back. I just talked to Kathy on the phone a few days ago, and I asked her to come back to the group and share about her healing. She is still dealing with issues, but her brain fog went away almost immediately. Do you see why this is so confusing?????? It would help alot if we could have similar healing paths so we could figure out what helps!!! Our shared experiences so far have clues, but when it comes to brain fog, it 's pretty mysterious. I wish I could offer more help in the way of an encouraging answer. I didn't see it tied to mercury, as I did the chelation therapy not once, but three times. I did it twice under the care of my naturopath, (we saw results in the lower levels of mercury and arsenic), and then once more under Andy Cutler's protocol using Captomer. It may have helped reduce the heavy metal load, but it did NOT get rid of my brain fog. I'll ask Kathy to weigh in on this issue too! Kathy is a wealth of information--she has been diligent to detox and use as many different protocols as I have. She is much, much better, but she still has a few issues, mostly digestive at this point. I'm feeling great still....I am waiting for the day when you will be saying this too! You'll get there...it just may take more time than you want it to. I know the feelings you have about it. I got very tired of fighting it all the time, and almost wanted to give up. At times I just wanted to go be with Jesus. But God comforted me in such special, tender ways. He loved me into healing. I knew He was reaching deep into my soul to heal me there first. He wanted me to know that He is enough, that my relationship with Him could be intimate, and that with Him, I had all I needed. He heard my voice, and asked me to listen for His. He is faithful! He is my Redeemer, Savior, Lover of my soul, my Comfort, and my Wisdom. The best thing about God is that He is that for everyone else as well. You can count on that. Be well, PH. I'm praying for you.
