Guest guest
I'm new to this group. I joined yesterday after seeing Intuitive Eating mentioned in an article and then found the website and joined the group. I don't know much about Intuitive Eating but I am drawn to the idea because I very much want to be a " normal " eater. I want to be able to eat when I am hungry and stop when I am full, to have peace with food, peace when I eat it and peace when I leave it alone. I have been in many different eating and weight management programs over the years. The last program I was in, although there were no explicit rules about it, the general thinking was that there was no hope for an over-eater of ever being a " normal eater " . And that a food plan and some some nonnegotiable rules about food were a necessity for lasting success. I'm here because I'm hoping that that isn't true and that I can become a normal eater. I've been thin and I have been fat. Right now I am about 14 pounds overweight. I would like to lose those 14 pounds, but even more than that, I would like to have a healthy self-esteem just as I am, and to enjoy my life to the fullest even with 14 extra pounds.
