Ha ha ha, no don't worry about being offensive! We are glad to hear from

you! Let it out!!!! Church can for sure be a weapon. My nada used it as such

- turning the congregation on me and telling them lies about me. No wonder

the thought of going in many churches gives me hives!!!

And I don't think anyone with BPD gets hypocrasy. I wonder why.

Sometimes we do need to vent using " black " humor. A while back I put together a

fake advertisement for a fake product called the " No Mo BPD Training Collar "

(and its companion product, the " No Mo NPD Training Necktie " ) Based on the idea

of those battery-operated anti-barking training collars for dogs, the " No Mo

BPD " collar *zaps!* the bpd person with a little electric shock when she starts

to say something nasty and hateful or whiny.

Doing that helped me vent my frustration, at least for a while. If I can find

the link to those " advertisements " I'll post them.

sometimes my fada does the strangest things. like when we are sitting my nephew,

when he is more in charge, he is gentler, but when a female comes in and takes

charge, he becomes the 'male' role, and he begins being harsher and saying harsh

things. it's bizarre, almost like a personality switch. and i realize then that

he is so destroyed as a person that there is no real 'self' left in him...there

is only the false, perfect, projected self of the narcissist, and then a

destroyed little child. so that and the humor in the post made me think he is

just like one of those dolls that has the string on the back of it, where you

pull the string and there are a number of responses. a very limited number,

that repeat over and over. and I can bet you a million bucks that his saying 'I

don't go to church to socialize' is an exact repetition, down to tone and

cadence, of someone from his childhood, whom he idolized as strong and in

control of things where he felt weak and powerless. I see this in my own dad so

much. it's such a shame and a disgrace what happens to children, it just makes

me sick, and yes, they are very, very, very sick in the head. Hugs.

Hey Joe,

The difference when a female comes into a room? It sounds like posturing or

something I would expect to see in primates..... Which is exactly to what I

compare my fada. A big loud primate...... I posted about this idea before.

My dad grew up in a country where the speak another language, so I don't

think he's copying anything. That said, he is like a pull doll. Half the

time my fada or dishrag mom tell me a story, I say " let me guess. Dad did

or said the following... " and proceed to say what he did. I'm not a

prophet, I just know my fada only has a very limited set of responses. Just

a like a pull doll.

My nada would often repeat phrases/statements/quotes from who ever she

idolized at the moment. It was creepy!

I am not sure if I heard it here or if my dh said it or a friend, but I heard it

somewhere and I thought wow so true. Somebody said BP is great in church because

there is nobody to toss them out bars and clubs have bouncers, work you get

fired, family and family can walk away, (something else too I think) but the

church has no defense. I thought wow so true.

my nada was huge on church, when she got in too many fights with all the pastors

she just made " church " in her own home. of course she lead even though she was

one messed up cookie. She had quite a few followers at one point (scary) and

used the excuss that anybody could be a leader blablabla she was lead by god,

god told her, blabla,. I still have a hard time with the idea of a god, but I am

working it out. LB
