hello everyone,

i tried to make a distribution list so i don't have to keep typing in names all the time....however i blew it so will attempt it another time.

thank you for all the great emails!

yesterday was a really bad day. in between running to the loo it was spent in bed. bad headaches and sweats. i had the platelets transfusion and this afternoon i will get another 2 units of blood transfusion. my hemoglobin is down to 68.

i am still alone after losing a but now welcome it as i don't think i would be great company for a new patient esp. if they are newly diagnosed with cancer.

my genetic counsellor from North York General called me yesterday and apparently i can be tested for a gene P53 which is a marker for leukemia. of course this may come back negative but i think it's important not just for myself but also for my kids and grandkids and other family members. she is arranging all the paper work with Dr. Rita Buckstern my oncologist and they will do the blood work right from my bed! amazing what can be accomplished and of course it is good for their research.

no results on the type of AML leukemia yet but it shouldn't be long. everything else is in place and I am keeping the docs and nurses busy....not because i want to but their dedication is overwhelming.

its a crummy day out today and as crummy as i feel, i won't let anything get me down.
