Guest guest
Got through the first day ok. They gave me ativan to lower the anxiety ( I needed it). Will know about side effects soon. These two chemos both list diarrhea as major side effects (after hair loss). Flu-like symptoms are common with one of the chemos, chills are common with the other. So I don't know how I will feel in a day or two. The anti-emetics could keep the diarrhea at bay for a while, as they are constipating. We shall see. Got a wig today, a turban, a hat, and a scarf hat. Should be prepared for when the hair goes. Going to enjoy dinner tonight as by tomorrow I may not feel like eating. I am feeling tired, have an appt. in the morning with my therapist who does the EMDR. I hope I can keep up with this chemo schedule, as both my doc and I feel that it will kill off the cancer in my lungs and liver. I may have to do 5 months or so, but hope for less. Probably radiation after that. Then the aromatase inhibitors. When I get there, I plan to do some things, as I will feel that my time is limited. No one knows how long these things will work for any individual women. It could be 6 months, or could last longer. Then they switch you to another aromatase inhibitor, which then has a 50% or maybe slightly more chance of working. In the end, you are back to chemo. Unless they find a new way to kill off the mutated cancer cells, my odds are not good at that point. Lynda
