Starting Lantus

Hello everyone,

I don't write here too often.

However, I thought I'd post an update.

Since mid July I have been seeing a nutrishionest. At first I hated it and

didn't want to make any changes. Sometimes I still hate it. But it's getting

better for me as time goes on. I have managed to lose 17 pounds so far,

which I am very, very proud of. I only have a few more sessions with her.

Then I am on my own, which does scare me some.

My doctor and I were talking the other day, and he is taking me off of my

Humalin N. I'm not sure I spelled that correctly.

Anyway, tonight I will be starting Lantus. I will start out with 25 units

and see how this works for me. I'm nervous about the switch, but I'm happy

about it also. My doctor feels that the Humalin is outdated.

He wants me to check my blood sugar every morning.

Do any of you have experience switching from such an insulin like Humalin,

to Lantus?

If so, what kind of experiences did you have?

Also, when I first joined this list a while back, someone from here sent me

a list of all kinds of foods that listed the carb amounts. Does anyone know

what I am talking about?

I used to have it, but the computer I had at the time crashed. I would

really like to get this again, if someone might have it.

Well I will close for now. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Terri
