Guest guest
Hi, I've always been a fast eater & it is really hard to unlearn this but I am working on it slowly. Trying to ENJOY every bite when I remember. Why is that so hard? mj > > I really have been working on eating when hungry and stopping when full...which is a constant challenge all day long...I realized today as I am trying to eat mindfully as a part of these processes that my actual ingestion of food has an exaggerated, almost aggressive component...as if the food is being taken away from me while I eat, so my chewing and consuming are rapid and messy....this was very disturbing to notice, especially as I was hoping to feel more " calm " with the " mindful " , non-distracted eating. > > I just felt the need to share this observation. > > Thanks for listening. > > >
Guest guest
It's hard for me, too. I know that deprivation makes it worse and literally has me shoveling food in while I can get it. But even without that, I still do it. It's a well ingrained habit. Even in grade school, I was ALWAYS the first one done eating. Don't know why, just always was. Most of the time, I still am. I still have to work on that one, as well.
