Guest guest
Sandy, One of my friends chose to get a front tooth implant after her crown was broken off. The ony choice she had was a partial plate, or implant. She wore the partial until her implant process could be completed. It took many, many months for this to happen, as she continued to suffer from bone infections where the metal implant peg was placed into the bone. She never did get her implant, as her body would not heal. I don't know what your body is going to do....just remember, when we got breast implants our plastic surgeons told us the same things your dentist did! > The dentist gave me the pros and cons > and said all of his patients have been a success > and I'm a great candidate for dental implants > The dentist said not everyone is... Anyway, I can understand wanting implants over dentures, I really do. I hope it is a success for you. Guest guest
Sandy, Most dental implants are made of titanium...a heavy metal that doctors say is safe, yet what I am finding on heavy metal forums, is that those with titanium screws and rods in their bodies develop chronic fatigue. Heavy metals set the body up for harboring parasites, viruses and bacteria. My doc said that as long heavy metals are in the body, the body cannot return to homeostasis. I also found this: " Dental implants are metal screws, typically of titanium, that are surgically inserted into the jaw to act as an anchor for a replacement tooth (the crown). While titanium is often described as a metal that doesn't react with tissues, there is evidence to suggest otherwise. It was found that debris from joint replacements made from metals such as titanium, nickel, chrome and cobalt had worked their way into the liver, spleen, lymph nodes and bone marrow (J Bone Joint Surg, 1994; 76B: 701-12). " I'd think twice about it too since it's also very intrusive surgery. You're still recovering from other surgeries. Whatever you do, go to a holistic dentist and let them know your complete health situation.
