Guest guest
My dear Paddy, Dr. Blais, who is a good friend of mine and my husband's, is a scientist here in Ottawa, Canada. He has a PhD in chemistry, and he is an expert in medical devices. He has been helping our Sandy, as well as so many other women. Many years ago, he blew the whistle on Health Canada over the MEME breast implant, and they fired him...a long story. I, too, suffer from chronic fatigue, and that is why we go to bed this time of night. Today, I have been in bed most all of the afternoon due to chest wall damage. Sending love and hope to you....Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`` Re: Lea N Friends I'm confused...if Dr. Blais is not a doctor, why do you refer to him otherwise?Sandy...can you get a massage somehow? I'm sorry you don't feel well and are so tired. Fatigue is just the worst!! I wish I had the magical words to make it all go away but all I can tell you is to pray. If you are too sick to pray, from what I have read here...you need not worry...there are many who will pray for you-including me. Now Sandy...take your right hand and put it on your left shoulder...now take your left hand and put it on your right shoulder...and squeeze...squeeze...squeeze...that's a great big hug from all your Lady Angels. We want you to feel better.Paddy
Guest guest
Honey, you have nothing to be sorry for, we are all working to help sick women. When I found out that I was sick from my implants, I became very angry. We were all lied to by everyone...even our lawyers. Good luck with your explant, and we will all be here to give you love and support....always...Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~``` Re: Lea N Friends Lea...um...okay...can I blame the implants for my stupid question?? There are many who are "doctors" who are not "medical" doctors, aren't there-what a dummy. See what the implants have done to me! The law firm that took on Dow is located in MN so I called them today and asked if they could refer me to a surgeon for explant surgery and they gave me the name of a Dr. Lee in Edina, MN. I have an appt. Monday afternoon-no consult charge. I'm also going to schedule to see the doctor who put in my implants in since he is regarded as one of the best in MN and did do a good job-though he shouldn't have done this size apparently. He was a very nice man AND it turns out he is a good friend of my brothers and did implants in my niece (which I only learned today)-he also has 30 years of experience. I want and NEED them out of me. I will make sure of course, that whomever does the explant meets all the qualifications that have been outlined in the info on this site. I read some more of your stories tonight and there just are not words for response ... the anger I feel over what I am reading-I want the world to know what is being done to women for BREASTS. The blame does not just go to the manufacturers, magazines, plastic surgeons, or men...but also to women. Women are also to blame for the competition we create amongst ourselves-and I am including myself; though I would like to claim otherwise. I'm sure I'm not writing any unique words of insight; words that haven't already been written. It is so hard to read your stories and then not have something worthwhile to write in response...but again, there aren't any words, and for that too, I am sorry. Please keep writing-you are saving lives by doing so. I have a feeling you saved mine...though it isn't over yet you have given me a chance that I wouldn't have had if you hadn't taken the time to write your stories and experiences. Guest guest
Dear Support Group, I have read many of the girls stories and I myself have saline implants. In June of 2003 I had a bilateral mastectomy. At that time my breast were removed and expanders were placed in my body. In Jan. of 2004 the expander were removed and the placement of saline implants were placed in my body. I did not like the looks of my breasts as time went on and found that the breast implants were missed label and that is why my breasts looked terrible. The implants were supposed to be 300cc, but instead he placed one 300cc and one 550cc implant in which it was under-filled and collapsed and made the other implant not symmetrical. The plastic surgeon was notified and then notified me. I saw another doctor in MN who told me they both needed to be removed and new implants should be replaced. The company who supplied the implants, offered to pay me $12,000 as long as I signed off any legal or complications to the next surgery. I than got my own lawyer and had the implants removed and new implants replaced on April of 2006. I am still under a lawyer's care. I wish I had heard about this group before hand because I would not have had implants placed in my body. I am not sick. My new implants look fine. I am just concerned after reading these stories that maybe something bad might happen. The company that I got the implants in wants to settle for a set some of money, but I still will have to pay for my medical expenses, which came to about $38,000 and now will also have to pay my lawyer. My only concern is that in the lawsuit they also name my new implants as part of the lawsuit. I have no recourse if something goes wrong with the new ones in my body now. I talked to my plastic surgeon who tells me everything will be ok because these implants are safe and the operation was sterile so no mold can form in my body. I called another plastic surgeon who told me everything would be ok and implants are safe, but that is their business, so I know that is why they would say that to me. I asked about explanting and they said I would have to have a complication with my implants before the surgery would be covered by insurance. Do most of the women who are sick, get sick right away? Did their implants leak? I am told because they are filled with saline that if they do leak nothing bad will happen. I was also told they would last forever, but now know they last about 10 years, and then should be replaced. One of the plastic surgeon's I talked to last week told me that. I was also wondering what clinic Dr. Lee in Edina. Mn is from. Maybe I can call and talk to someone in that office just to see how much it would cost to have these implants removed. What would you suggest? I live in Wisconsin and Edina is about 90 miles from me. Remember I am not sick. Do you think I should have them removed? Until my lawsuit is settled I can not do anything. I do not know if I should take the deal with the new implants named in the law suit, but my lawyer said that is how it is done. They want me to go away. Let me know what you think. Thank you. jerilynob58@... Re: Lea N Friends Lea...um...okay. ..can I blame the implants for my stupid question?? Guest guest
Good Morning, Dear Friend: Welcome to our support group, and we hope that we can help you. Did you have breast cancer? Saline breast implants are still on the market; however, there are many problems with these medical devices. Most all of my research was done on silicone breast implants, because that is what I had. There are many articles on the dangers of saline breast implants, and I would encourage you to do some research. I have been helping women who have become sick from breast implants for over 15 years. When I ask them questions regarding their symptoms, they tell me that they have had breathing problems, or that they have had a rupture. The symptoms are often ignored, because your plastic surgeon has told you that they are safe. Who would question their doctor? After what I have been through, I question everyone. Women who have had breast cancer, should never have these devices implanted into their bodies. We have many friends who are lawyers, and not one would touch a breast implant case. Has your lawyer done any research on these devices? I am so sorry that you have been through so much, and we hope that you do not get sick. Sending love and hope to you...Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`````` Re: Lea N Friends Lea...um...okay. ..can I blame the implants for my stupid question??
