Guest guest
Evening primrose carrier oil contains adequate quantities of polysaturated omega-6 fatty acids, essential fatty acids (EFAs), which are very vital for the smooth functioning of the body. It aids in regulating a number of functions in the body such as insulin utilization and proper functioning of heart. It also has a reasonable amount of linoleic acid and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) and thus enables the body to combat cancer and heart disease. The oil is of great use in treating rheumatoid arthritis and asthma. Evening Primrose oil has also proved to be effective in curing the chronic fatigue syndrome. I just started some, and I will let you know how it goes.......... Love and hope to all ! Dede **************Looking for simple solutions to your real-life financial challenges? Guest guest
Sweet Lea ~ Double check with the pharmacist, especially since you are up for surgery, according to this , it enhances the effects of warfarin....... so if you get it, wait til after surgery to start it...... but either way, double check with your pharmacist...... you may get to decrease your coumadin while on it I would definately wait til after a surgery to take it tho..... Evening Primrose - Herbs & Supplements - Drug Library - DrugDigest http://www.drugdigest.org/DD/DVH/HerbsInteractions/0,3926,4010%7CEvening%2BPrimrose,00.html What interactions should I watch for? Prescription Drugs In studies and case reports, GLA has been shown to increase the time blood needs to clot. Due to the high percentage of GLA in evening primrose oil, blood-thinning effects may be increased if evening primrose oil is taken at the same time as an antiplatelet or anticoagulant drug, possibly resulting in uncontrolled bleeding. Antiplatelets include clopidogrel and Ticlid Anticoagulants include heparin and warfarin isnt coumadin the same as warfarin? Non-prescription DrugsThe GLA in evening primrose oil may lessen the ability of blood to clot after an injury. Aspirin can also delay clotting, so evening primrose oil should not be taken orally at the same time as aspirin. I will not take my aspirin on the same days as I take the evening of primrose... Today, we will buy some, but I wonder if it will be okay to take it while on Coumadin. My infectious disease specialist had me on Osteo Forte many years ago, and I was doing much better than I am now. My tummy is swollen, and it really bothers me...I look 9 months pregnant!
