gasp.......... did you hear me shrieking for you all the way down here? I hate snakes. OK OK I know some are good for the natural balance, rodent control, yada yada yada.... you aren't supposed to kill any here that aren't poisonous. Well, I tell you what, I don't trust them. If I ask them if they are poisonous, they'll probably lie to me so I just look to see if they have teeth. That's my criteria: do you have teeth? Can you bite? Ah! Goodbye!

Since this has been one of my really good days I was gonna do a little more yard work. But I give up, I'm in for the night. Was gonna do a little weed eating so I could plant more cannas, but when I ran across 2 not 1 mind you, but 2 copperhead within 10 feet its time to give it up for the night. sure heard me squeal, I tell you that. I shot one and chopped the other one up. shudder I hate snakes, and those buggers are the exact same color as our fallen leaves. shiver shudder YUCK!!! Good thing I didn't have to pee!!

Well thats part of the problem, we have leaves all over our yard. I told that I wasn't going to go out to the dog pen anymore to feed because I have to walk in old leaves. Nope, no way, nada. lol I guess I could ride the 4 wheeler the other way around the house.

Long story but I tried to shoot him with a .38 (it's all I knew how to shoot!) and after I danced with this huge snake for about 10 minutes, a farmer came to see what the shooting was about and he shot him with a shotgun (and HIT him too!!!) I left him there on the ground. I wasn't touching him and the farmer obviously thought he'd done his good deed. Ronnie was late getting home. He HAPPENED to park (OK he parked there every night) right where the snake was and he stepped on it when he got out of his truck. He said he stood there for a few seconds waiting to be bitten since he KNEW what it had to be. I think he wanted to shoot me next! No..... even though I was braver then, it cured me! I don't do snakes. I sure can scream loud though when I see one!

We just don't kill them, period, up here. We only have three kinds that are...the Eastern Diamondback, the Copperhead, and the Water Mocasin. On our land...no Water Mocasins. The only one I ever worry about is the Copperhead because they are hard to see and more poisonous, and don't warn at all.
