I'm a hmm.. is that the same thing as the Toaster? That ran on an Amiga tho - so I kinda doubt it. And that was a LONG time ago! The company I work for is Avid - if you haven't heard of us, the video people you have worked with definitely have. We started out on the Mac, but about 3 years ago put our product on a PC as well, so now we run on Mac, Windows NT, and Windows 2k. As far as working from home, it's not very feasible, except for a day or two here and there. We recently put our product onto a laptop (which is VERY cool!!) and while I was working on that project I did actually work from home sometimes, because it was easy to bring a laptop home. But I switched to a different group - and the product I am on now isn't available on a laptop (bummer) but I did get the cool manager, so that was a trade-off. Yes, I am still in the Boston area.. so hopefully that will work to my advantage. You're right about this group and the people and the information - I have learned SO much! And yes, I'm still pretty " young " as far as this disease is concerned.. heck, as far as I know I'm still not even sure I HAVE this disease! My doctor just keeps saying that she is not sure I really have pancreatitis, because I don't " fit the mold " . But what I'm learning from this list is that the mold that the doctors are using is not the right mold at all. Someday they will realize that alcohol is not the number 1 cause of this problem.. I think this group is testament to that. And trust me - I don't think this group will *ever* throw you off.. don't you worry about that! It's nice to meet a fellow cat lover too. One day when I was feeling pretty lousy I was lying on the couch all day, dozing on and off, and Molly was sitting on the cushion above me. She is not a lap cat, she likes to lie near me but not too close, usually at least a foot away. But this day everytime I woke up Molly was lying there, with her paws stretched out gently touching my face... keeping watch over me. Give Middens and some chin scritches from me!
