Guest guest
Hi again, Give that cocoanut milk a shot. It also has fewer carbs and tastes really good if you happen to like cocoanut. Also, you might try sausage rather than bacon as I think it may have fewer carbs as well. Guest guest
, I just looked up the raw tomato and 1 tomato has about 5 grams of carbs. The 8 oz milk is, as you said, about 12 grams. Guest guest
Hospital turkey bacon is nasty. But if you use a tiny bit of oil and fry it yourself, it is pretty good. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Mark Ruth Sent: Sunday, June 12, 2011 12:37 PM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Re: Just wont to make sure. Turkey bacon is what they give me in the hospital and it is some kind of nasty to me. sounds like I'm going to have to give up lots of things that show on me right now because I ate to much of them in the past. takes all the fun out of eating. but then maybe having fun while eating is half of the problem? Just wont to make sure. here is what I figured I had in carbs for breakfast this morning 3 scrambled eggs, 3 bacon, one cup sliced tomatoes, 12-oz milk and black coffee. I figure this breakfast at 30 carbs. wont to make sure I'm figuring it right before I assume I did. If I do wish to lower the amount down to 20 later, then I figure to knock out the milk. I love milk, but as a diabetic it is very high in carbs for no more then you can have and be safe. I did see that soy milk has less carbs per 8 ounces. have any of you actually drank a glass of soy milk? If so, how does it taste. seems like I seen where soy milk only has 5 carbs per 8 ounces instead of 12 like cow milk. If I don't watch it, I can drink one gallon of milk in less then 4 days. I can drink 2 gallons of cow milk by my self in one week and this is taking it easy. I've always knew as a diabetic the first thing I need to stay away from is milk and I love milk! ok, you guys check out my breakfast and let me know if I'm right with 30 total carbs and if you think 30 carbs a meal will work or should I lower the amount right now? thanks for all your in put because it is very welcome and important to me. if you got some other ideas for a different type of breakfast, then by all means please let me know.
