Guest guest
That is Great! I can completely lose track of time when I am in the shop, and completely forget about eating! Just yesterday, I was in the shop from 9 until 6, and had no idea what time it was until I got called! That is not good either though, I went all day without eating, which is not good! I was so tired when I got done, I had just a small dinner. It sure made a difference in my BG! The lowest I have seen it in a while! Smile! You are on the way! I think you said that you were not going to worry about lunch until after church! I do think about meals ahead of time, I try to lay out a menu for the week and try to stick to it! I make out my menu after a meal when I am not hungry. I find that I can think more rationally when I am full! Smile! When I shop every week, I buy only the items on the menu and nothing else! I drink not soda or juices, only water, black coffee and ginger tea which I make myself. I do drink a glass of dry red wine with my evening meal which I enjoy and seems to help! I make the wine myself from only pure juice and no additives! When I feel hungry between meals, I have a couple of pieces of celery with a little cream cheese on it. You are getting on the right track, so, just keep following the rails! Smile! As you said, you didn't put on the weight over night, so it isn't going to come off over night. I am sure that you didn't set out to weigh what you do, it has been happening gradually, and without you thinking about it! So, start doing the same for taking it off, gradually and almost without thinking about it! With proper spicing and proper choice almost any food will taste great! If you have 3/4 of your plate with vegetables and the remaining quarter with protein and a little starch, you will feel full, and take in far less carbs! If you need low carb recipes, I am sure that we can supply you with as many as you would ever want! Smile! You have made the first huge step, recognizing your problem and brought it out in the open! Go for it man!! could it still hurt after 4 years? I had my cabbage, open heart by-pass back in 2007 and then coded ten days later. they probably broke some ribs jumping up and down on my chest, but 26 minutes later I rejoined the living. But this split on my chest has never stopped hurting. I can press on it in certain places and it will hurt really bad if I push to hard. I heard that when the weather is cold or wet that this can make a place you had cut open on your body hurt. is this so? Will the pain ever go away? I have wondered if I could have some kind of authoridus in the place where they wired me back together. I told the heart doc, but he just says after all my chest had to go through that month he isn't surprised that it hurts and that is all he has ever said about it. also have wondered if that spot where they wired me together, could it ever get infected after all these years? I go for a chemical stress test next week because I have been having some chest pain. but when they run the test they run in the hospital nothing shows up that says there is a problem with the heart. Now my A1C was 13 about six weeks ago and the doc put me on time release metforman, 1000 milligrams twice a day. Do you think this could be causing the chest pain? I know it has been upsetting my stomach in a bad way for a week now. I certainly hope the A1C will come down if I got to put up with the sick feeling like I'm going to lose my cookies. then in the hospital they put me on the purple pill because I told them it feels like there is a knot in my throat all the time. they said that is a complaint of folks who have reflux problems. Well this little pill is higher then a cat's back. I only pay $42, but my insurance pays $170 each month. I bet it won't be long when I will be in the doughnut hole as they call it. When that happens I will have to make a choice to pay the difference or go back to the knot in my throat feeling. the purple pill has helped that feeling go away though. Well anyway was hoping some of you may have an answer for me. thanks for any advice you might have.

Guest guest
You are right Mark abut the stopping and starting thing. When you stop doing the right thing, send us a note and maybe we can help you. My husband, who is partially sighted has a wood shop. It really helps keep him busy, as does working on computers. He is a type 2 diabetic and has to work on not over eating.. he recently got a guide dog and goes for long walks with her, which helps him keep the sugar down. No one feels good when the sugar is elevated, which is another reason to keep it down. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Mark Ruth Sent: Sunday, June 12, 2011 6:46 AM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Re: could it still hurt after 4 years? funny you should ask. I do have a wood shop and belong to the same blind wood worker list that you do. I don't post much, but again I read most post so I can pick up on some tips. I retired from my job only a month ago after 35 years. I'm going to try some thing different for the rest of my life. I'm only 54 and should have some time left if I take better care of my self. I as well dig water and do drink probably a gallon a day. when you add up the water, milk, and diet Dr. Pepper, well I do pee a lot. my biggest thing to get done is eat right and exercise daily. I can do both for 3 or 5 days and then I stop for a week. then I do it over again and then I stop for a week. I just got to get pass the stopping and starting back. I do love my wood shop and do now that I'm retired spend a lot of time out there. but here lately with my sugars high and who knows what else, I haven't felt good enough to stay working out there for long periods. You know how some folks turn on the TV and hit the kitchen at the same time? well when I read I also wish to eat as I read. I know all this is in my head and my head is what I must change. I got the know how from listening to this list. now I got to put it to the test and not give up so fast. success lies in the long haul, not the short run. I must look at it as a journey taking baby steps and not a short race with a quick finish. I believe us who are around 100 pounds over weight get over whelmed by the hugeness of it all. thinking about how long it will take to get all this weight off and this is where most of us fall on our face. we didn't achieve the extra pounds over night, but we wish to get rid of it to morrow. we wont our cake and to eat it as well. I got 54 years of bad eating habits and worse decisions of how I ate all these years. Now I must change all my past thinking if I wish to continue a healthy and long life. If I am sick and tired of being sick and tired, then it is time to do some thing about it or remain in the funk and nothing will change. right now not going to concern my self with lunch until I get home from church. then I will think on it and what to eat. water is my friend and we have been together for many years. I think I should spend more time in my Prayer closet to get piles of strength that as a human I don't have. I also belong to the hands on cooking list that you do as well. If I ate everything that they put out on that list I would probably all ready be dead! but I do enjoy reading about it and licking my lips. could it still hurt after 4 years? Guest guest
I tried the almond butter and wasn't to impressed with the cost or the taste. do dig peanut butter though. the trouble with eating peanut butter on celery is I think I have to have a cup of peanut butter on a slice of celery. so if I do this it is going to be mind over my stubborn will to have it my way.
Guest guest
, I am glad you asked about the coconut milk. Since I lived on a farm for several years and learned to milk I feel qualified to pass along this advice. Coconut milk is very special hence not many breeds of cow can produce it. The Guernsey, for one, do give this milk with some cows. Few people realize that most cows have 6 tits, not 4. It is the left back tit which can produce the special coconut milk. It also requires a trained milk hand in order to get the cow to release this milk. In case you were curious, the right back tit can give chocolate milk. Now, in case you do not have a special Guernsey cow handy then Wal-Mart, among others, do sell the coconut milk in quart cartons. Guest guest
Gator Bait, So far as cows are concerned the Guernsey, Jersey and Red Poll are all excellent milk cows. Their butterfat content is very high. We had a Red Poll and you could get nearly a quart of heavy cream out of a gallon of milk. Now, as for the Holstein, you can tell if the milk was from a Holstein if you can read the date on a quarter which is at the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket of milk. (LOLLLOLLOL) They give a large volume of milk but very, very little butterfat. One of my grandmothers had a centrifuge to spin the milk. It spun out the cream and the rest of the milk which we called blue milk, went to the dogs and hogs. Well anyway was hoping some of you may have an answer for me. thanks for any advice you might have.
Cy, also that coconut milk is very rich in mineral and vitamins. My Grandmother had one of those Guernsey cows. Some of the best milk ever. Junior Lolley KG4itd Liberty County Emergency Coordinator Re: could it still hurt after 4 years? you need to milk a coconut cow ha ha karen could it still hurt after 4 years?
