Guest guest Posted July 2, 2002 Report Share Posted July 2, 2002 " Total Gym " Recall Approximately 310,000 Total Gym® " 1000 " and " Pro " model exercise machines are being recalled because the handles can unexpectedly detach from the cable during use and/or the cable itself can break causing potential injury. Fitness Quest, the maker of these machines, is offering free replacement of the affected handle and cable assemblies for Total Gym® 1000 and Total Gym PRO exercisers with serial numbers DK000001 through DK129350, models with the serial number prefixes XO or SM, and models without serial numbers. The serial number is located on the underside of the machine's glide board. These machines were generally sold from June 1997 through October 2001 for approximately $200. Please note that Total Gym models sold on television infomercials are not included in this recall. If you have one of these exercise machines, stop using it immediately and contact Fitness Quest to order a free repair kit. They can be reached at 1- between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST Monday through Friday.
