So, what's the best brand? My son has been taking Kirkman's hypoallergenic for over a year. I'm just wondering if there is something better out there. :-)Thanks!

We use MRM - COQ10 w/L-Carnitine. For some reason we did other brands (together and separately)and it seemed like we were wasting our money. This brand seemed to hit the nail right on the head -- but as Toni would say (LOL!) running and ducking for cover! the ingredients aren't great. (I didn't care at that point, I am not sure I am supposed to say that, but really, I didn't care and I needed SOMETHING. I got the idea from a bodybuilding forum -- and all the guys raved about it.)We went from eating like birds to eating like HORSES! (All good stuff, of course!) :) laura >> So, what's the best brand? It is a brand name, like Jarrow or Kirklands. I think the name of the company is Metabolic Response something or other. The MRM " stuff " is talking about is coq10+L-carnitine liquid.

Dose on the bottle is 1 oz (32 servings per bottle I believe) which would equal the 100 mg coq10 and 1000 mg l-carnitine. Our DAN wants my 40 lb daughter with low carnitine and possible mito disease/dysfuntion to take 200 mg coq10 and 1500-2000 mg l-carnitine per day.

, I am reading up on l-carnitine. L-carnitine is not absorbable without a spike in insulin (says wiki) so perhaps the fact this product comes in a sweet form helps it work?FWIW, since I am reading up on L-carnitine... l-carnitine is synthesized in the body from methionine and lysine. It's co-factor is vitamin c. My kids have low carnitine (or did) and low vit c. Couldn't figure out why my fruit and veggie eaters were low in vit c! Makes it a bit more clear!

Cool, thank you xxx

Sorry, inaccurate info... it's 1/2 oz or 1 tablespoon that equals 100/1000.

Could you explain the whole co-factor thing? I'm just curious because I recently found out that my daughter has low carnitine as well (and possible mito issues), and I think eventually we are going to be doing the l carnitine COQ10 thing. Does that mean, as you supp with these things that Vit C will be more easily absorbed?- Kirk-To: mb12 valtrex From: bellbaby@...Date: Wed, 12 Jan 2011 14:23:40 -0500Subject: Re: Re: CO-Q10

Dose on the bottle is 1 oz (32 servings per bottle I believe) which would equal the 100 mg coq10 and 1000 mg l-carnitine. Our DAN wants my 40 lb daughter with low carnitine and possible mito disease/dysfuntion to take 200 mg coq10 and 1500-2000 mg l-carnitine per day., I am reading up on l-carnitine.

No, I think in order for methionine and lysine to convert to l-carnitine, they require vitamin c. I will have to investigate it further, since I was just reading wiki.

Could you explain the whole co-factor thing? I'm just curious because I recently found out that my daughter has low carnitine as well (and possible mito issues), and I think eventually we are going to be doing the l carnitine COQ10 thing. Does that mean, as you supp with these things that Vit C will be more easily absorbed?

Sorry, inaccurate info... it's 1/2 oz or 1 tablespoon that equals 100/1000.
