Guest guest
Hi , Vegetable oil? I really do not think this is a very good idea as the vegetable oil will stay more on the surface of your foot. There is a product called something like " heel repair " sold at Wal-Mart which will do a pretty good job of softening the calluses and skin on your foot. It will also soften those crusty places so they can be buffed off. I have found a massage product which is really excellent in softening your skin everywhere and I will have Crystal get me the name. It is probably the best I have found. My granddaughter-in-law gave Crystal some Avon skin softener but it can not hold a candle to this massage product. I will see if I can find Mink Oil for you. Another good method is to soak your feet in very warm water with some Epson Salt in it. This will serve to cleanse your feet as well. Guest guest
For calluses on my feet, I have used a variety of oils and lotions with better results if my feet are soaked in water first. I like using oils and lotions just after getting out of the shower. In this way the lotion or oil keeps the moisture in. If you put the lotion or oil on a dry foot, it only keeps the moisture out. Guest guest
Danny, You are on to something very important. In order to achieve the maximum benefit from any therapeutic or medicinal oil the pores of the skin must be open otherwise they act as an extremely effective barrier. Soaking the feet in very warm water with something like sea or Epson salt will soften the feet and help make the calluses workable. Same is true if you happen to use some sort of salve to reduce muscular pain. If you will apply a very warm *MOIST* towel to the area first then the oils or whatever will be able to soak in and reach the muscles.
I like using oils and lotions just after getting out of the shower. In this way the lotion or oil keeps the moisture in. If you put the lotion or oil on a dry foot, it only keeps the moisture out.
