Guest guest
Hi Patty, I haven't posted on this web site for a while. I'm glad that you are still here. I have been religious on my no grain diet for 4 months now. My life has completely changed. I am calmer, more focused and have more energy on certain days and suffer die off on others. This candida thing is really a tough one. I was having some problems with tingling all over (mostly upper arms, chest and tounge) when I got over anxious or when I over exercised. A health consultant told me to try vitamin D3 and it seems to be so much better. Could a deficiency in D3 cause those symptoms? I am doing a lot of vitamins according to the candida program that I am on but not the D3. Just thought I'd ask if you knew anything about that. Take care and hope you are doing well. Guest guest
Hi Patty, Thanks for your reply. Yes, I am eating lots of meat. I am doing Bee's program with the coconut oil. It is difficult but I am so much better. I am back into nursing (home care) and able to concentrate enough on the docmentation. (except now I am taking care of my parents). Bee does not believe in fiber supplementation. It is a high fat diet and so I eat all the eggs and olive oil, butter and coconut oil I want. My snacks are avocoados & tomatoes covered with olive oil.It is pretty easy to follow as you just tell people that you are on Dr. Atkins diet. No one seems to understand candida so I don't bother to tell them. It is different in California where all my friends know what I am talking about. They are not very health conscious in Mass. Anyway, I have cured my constipation with this diet. Fats are so important. My skin is even glowing. She refers to Dr. Weston Price's diet and Sally Fallon. I bought B12 as well as the D3 the other day so I am going to give it a try. I used it before. I can't imagine being deficient as i eat so much meat. Thanks for your support. Guest guest
Hey Joanne, Wow! I've heard of Bee's diet before, and was on her group for awhile. I never did the diet like you are though...It's amazing all the fats you get to eat...are you gaining weight? That would be my problem! I've done her raw egg and coconut oil hot drink in the morning. It's an interesting concoction to say the least. I'm a folllower of Dr. Weston Price for sure...have Sally Fallon's book, Nourishing Traditions as well. I agree with you...fats are very important to health. However, there are some diseases for a few of us where fats are troublesome. Animal fats (saturated fats) promote inflammation and for those of us with autoimmunity and inflammation issues, alot of animal fats make it worse. So, there has to be a balance based on your inflammation situation. For those with inflammation issues, the better oils would be the Omega 3 essential fatty acids--- which reduce inflammation. These would be the oils like fish oils, borage oil, evening primrose oil, flaxseed oil. Joanne, I'm so happy for you that you've been feeling so good. I know what you mean about the difference in understanding on the West coast vs the East coast. I've seen it too. I'm hoping that eventually the whole nation understands the importance of eating right! And of the trouble with candida. It is still controversial. Candida issues are so complex, and many times there is no clear concensus on how it is diagnosed or treated. You just have to go by how you feel. I've never struggled with candida issues to the degree that some of the women have, but I've taken the caprylic acid in large doses just to be on the safe side. But wow, that diet is something else! Glad it is working for you! Patty > > > > > > Hi Patty, > > > > > > I haven't posted on this web site for a while. I'm glad that you > are > > > still here.
