Guest guest
cramps. I need to pass this information on in case it may help some one that has a problem with cramps in the legs and feet. Last year I began to write down every time I had a cramp. then I would write down as well what I ate the day before the cramps started to see if I could find pattern. well I think after a year and more I have found a pattern in my self for sure. I have noticed by my own records for about 16 months that the day before all my foot and leg cramps over the past 16 months that I had ate some foods that contained sugar. I noticed that flour, pasta, rice and stuff that will turn to sugar in our blood streams didn't cause the cramps. it was always the food that had sugar in it. I even noticed by my records that some times it only took as few as ten hours to start the cramping. I don't think I'm the only one out there that has suffered from cramps in the muscles. I have had them all my life. my daddy had them as well and he had a big sweet tooth. I have noticed from my notes that when I go weeks with out food containing sugar I have no cramps hardly at all and when I do they aren't bad and don't hurt bad at all. I strongly believe that if any one else has bad hurting cramps in the foot or legs as I have my whole life should give it a try them self. try to go with out sugar in your diet for a couple of weeks and see if your cramps may go away as mine did. It may not be the case in most people or even all people, but it is worth a try to make sure I'm thinking. I never would have made the connection with out my records of what I ate the day before the cramps and I kept these records for more then a year. Now that I've got my diabetes back under control, I have noticed the cramps have left me all most completely and what a blessed relief this is to me. I've had cramps so bad before that it made me cry in pain. nothing you can buy will help a bad cramp very much. if the cramp isn't real bad, there are some things you can buy to rub on the muscle that will help a bit. cramps seem to hit worse at night. but they will come any time. I say you don't have anything to lose by cutting sugar out of your diet for a few weeks and see what happens with your cramps if you have them. sugar isn't good at all for us who are a diabetic and the way I look at it is, if this is God's plan to keep us from slowly killing our self, then God knows best. causing me to have bad cramping after I have ate sugar that I shouldn't be eating is a pretty good way of keeping me away from sugar. the cost to me is to high to pay. that bit of wonderful sweet tasting delight in my mouth isn't much compared to the pain I have later from the cramping. the cost is to high to pay for me. I'm hoping that some one can be helped by my records that I kept for more then a year to see if there was truly a pattern and I really did find one.
