Guest guest
Maritza,Have you been a member of this group before? I remember someone named Maritza....Regardless, I am really sorry to hear that you are still suffering pain after explant.I'm wondering....did you have your capsules removed?Just as importantly, have you had testing of your hormone levels, such as estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone? I don't know how old you are, but perhaps if you are near menopause or are in perimenopause, your levels of hormones may be a factor. Many doctors do not readily recognize the symptoms associated with low estrogen in younger women. Several recent studies have found that women are more sensitive to pain during periods of low estrogen. Researchers found that estrogens appeared to influence the activation pattern caused by painful stimulation. "The results of this study suggest that the affective component of pain may be enhanced during the low-estrogen phase of the menstrual cycle in healthy women," concluded lead researcher Reny de Leeuw, DDS, PhD.http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/37002.phpSo, please try to get some good testing of your hormone levels. Also, have you done any detoxing? I understand you need relief from your pain, and that there are times when you cannot go without those drugs, but in the long run, it would be good for you to undergo some detoxing to reduce your dependence on drugs. Are you working with a doctor at all?I wish you well, and pray we can find the answers for you!Patty>> Maritza ... I am forwarding your important message to women in our support> system. Guest guest
Hi Maritza, I a writing you to tell you your are not alone, I was explanted only 6 mo. ago and feel I am getting sicker, I had my emplants in for 23 years ( silicone duble lumen ). I have the exact same pain in my shoulders, its hard for me to sleep cause bothe are painful and they fall asleep at night and hurt, I have pain in between my shoulders and pain that travels down both arms as well as my legs. I am a professianl Dressage rider. I ride 4 or 5 horses a day, some days it is extremly difficult for me cause of the pain, but funny enough it is when I have my days off that it feels the worse, most likely cause I don't have my mind busy on other things, not to mention that I believe if it wasn't for the horses I would of lost it along time ago, when I am with them, although I still feel pain it makes it more tolerable. I am sorry to hear you are in pain i know how frusrating it is, i too don't say anything to anyone, I know they are tired of me complaining from when I had my implants in, DR's are of no help, they just want to give me anti depressants...which I won't take. I have had many test as well....all NEG. I have a lump on my back, which my chiropractor said was not muscle or bone ( A Dr. looked at it with his eyes and said that what it was, before i went to the chiropracter). My Chiroprater suggested to go to the Dr and have a MRI done ,but I am afraid to go to a Dr, cause they have all made me feel like crap when I see them. I take tylenol PM for pain and to help me sleep at night, then go off of it every 3 weeks for a wk to give my body a rest, I have been doing this for years for the pain. I can't take pain meds as I have a addictive personality ( recovering alcoholic of 12 years ). I know I am not much help, but sometimes it helps to know that your not alone, please feel free to use me as a sounding board, God knows its nice to have someone to talk to that dosn't think your crazy or some hypercondriact. Guest guest
-Maritza, Whatever you do, don't make it worse by taking those drugs, believe me it is not worth it and it will only make things worse!! Please keep writing and talking about whatever you need to get out, it helps allot more then drugs!! Try and focus on the good things in your life and if you have something you enjoy doing, do it, as somestimes it helps to get our mind off the pain and on something we enjoy doing. I know this is not easy and it is all so frustrating, even more so when we feel alone......but you are not alone and we all need to stick togather and support one another, cause only those of us effected by this disease can truly understand what the other is going through! Keep your chin up! Guest guest
Hi Shanelle, Thank you for writing and telling us about your life and healing journey....you've given some good advice! I'm so sorry to hear that you suffer from this pain...and I understand completely your frustration with doctors. I wanted to mention that when I got explanted, I felt sick and poisoned for at least 18 months past explant. I thought I was never going to get better, even though I had tried to stand on my faith and trust that I would heal and get better because so many women had given me that hope. I remember crying on my husband's shoulder and telling him in tears, " I'm never going to get better! " --this was over a year after explant. I remember at 18 years post explant trying to go out to Target to buy some household goods for our new home and just wanting to turn right around and go home because I felt so poisoned. I literally felt like my body could not function, and it took everything in me to go out of the house. But, slowly, surely, as I detoxed and prompted my body to move into a better state of health, it happened. I don't know if anyone else will have a healing journey/time frame like mine, but I can tell you that the feeling of being ill/ poisoned/getting sicker is probably quite common in this experience for all of us. There has to be a point where the immune system turns around, and until it does, or while it does, you can still feel so ill. Your job as a Professional dressage rider sounds like good therapy for you....being around the horses must be so comforting! I love animals, and when you are sick, they can become your best, best friends! God bless you Shanelle, and thank you for writing! Patty > > > > Maritza ...
