Hi, and welcome,

I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble with your breathing....

You will have to give yourself some time to heal from this surgery,

though we've had women who have reacted negatively right away from their

breast implant surgery, and have never recovered well enough to keep the

implants in. Some women have had to remove their implants quite soon

after the initial implantation due to symptoms that never get better.

In fact, I just got off the phone with another young lady who is 6 weeks

out from getting her breast implants, and she is getting them removed

ASAP, because she has been so ill.

Gretchen Cannon is another woman who got ill right away from her

implants, and suffered so much...you can view her story here:

Your doctor sounds like he lacks skills in relating well to his

patients. Maybe he is going through some personal problems of his

own??? I've never heard of him, and we have never had anyone on our

group go through explant with him. We have two female doctors listed

for explant in Washington, both in the Seattle area.

Give yourself a few weeks to heal, but keep track of those symptoms and

watch for anything else that may happen in the future. I got sick about

8 months after getting my implants, while some women don't get sick

until several years later. It can happen at any time, and it can be

sudden like you hit a wall, or it can creep up with many little symptoms

that seem like " aging " . Except that women in their 20's don't age,

right?

I wish you well!

Patty

very well and it was yesterday; however today I am having trouble

breathing. My chest area feels so tight and constricted. I feel it is

due to the bra being so tight and the strap they put over them to " hold

them down " is SO TIGHT. Has anyone else had this symptom?

recommended but man he is not a people person. I would say he is on the

verge of being a .... well for lack of better words a jerk. He always

seemed uninterested in what I have to say. When he called me this

morning to check on me I asked him if it was normal that one breast was

smaller than the other. He went on to tell me he expected this out of my

personality type, he stated I was " high energy " and that he expected me

to very " picky " but not to worry because it is normal for each breast to

heal differently. I felt that was his way of calling me a bitch. His

tone sounded annoyed, now I do not feel comfortable to call him with any

questions or concerns! I hope to give the info on my doc to people

considering going to him, it would have been worth it to pay the extra

from the other surgeon I interviewed. I wwould have paid 500 bucks extra

for some compassion!

appreciated!!

You mentioned Houston, I think Dr Melmed is still in Dallas, don't know if he is

still explanting and on the recommended surgeon list. I think he will do " en

bloc " if you ask him.

hang in there,

> To tell you the truth the way I have explained  what I felt after surgery is

" it felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest " . After much research and the

support of this group I have realized that I was young, uninformed and made a

descision that has changed life. For the last 5 years implants have restricted

me from being so much that I wanted to be in life. At first to tell you the

truth I was very upset by the fact that everyone told me " to just have them

removed " . Never in the 11 years that I had them had I regreted getting them. Now

that I have been informed by this support group, my personal research and

information that my implant maker has supplied and/or failed to supply I realize

had I been informed of ALL the risks involved i could have saved myself, my

Xhusband (yes I do say X with a capital letter for a reason) and my children

alot of misery because maybe from the getgo of these symptoms I would have know

where to go to get the correct

> treatment.
